1. Done! Good comments there! Check it out!
My comment might have been a little too "hot" for their hot topic (--I called Tom Delay and Bob Ney, the architects of the "Help America Vote Act" that caused all this trouble and stolen elections, the biggest crooks in Congress). We'll see.

It's hard to figure this 27% of people, the idiots among us--isn't it? But I guess we should forget them, and go with what we now know is the great progressive majority in this country. Give them a faith-based trip to Mars, I say!

2. Just voted and posted this comment
Trust is irrelevant. Democracy needs checks and balances. I oppose electronic voting because there is no basis for confidence in the results.

Currently, voting machines with secret ("proprietary") programming code leave no way to verify that results match the will of the people. We are forced to trust, like it or not. The outcomes of elections are based on these corporate secrets rather than the Consent of the Governed.

It is from this Consent, according to the Declaration of Independence, that government derives "just Power." The backlash is a challenge to the legitimacy of our current so-called leaders. Our message: We Do Not Consent.

6. Unfortunately;
I don't trust the Columbus Dispatch. Although it has been funny reading off and on the LTTE's form fundies complaining about the Dispatch's half-hearted attempt to move somewhat centrist.

7. My post
I will not acknowledge the legitimacy of any vote count until it can be accurately audited and verified. A random sample has to be recounted and have that recount match the original count. If that is not possible because there is no paper ballot, the election is invalid. It is not my job to prove the election was stolen, it is their job to prove that the election was valid. If they did not want to steal it why would they refuse to prevent the theft?

8. I voted, but I think the Dispatch
has dispatched our comments (and maybe our votes?)where they'll never be seen. Six hours later the vote is unchanged -- 27% Yes 73% No

9. It is updated
It is still showing the same 77% NO but there are now 94 comments. Mine is included at 8/17 4:00pm. Of all the comments added since it was frozen (at 62?), hardly any say YES.
