Corrupted Voting Machine Discovered In New Haven

Malloy Campaign Filing Complaint with Secretary of the State

NEW HAVEN – This morning at roughly 7 a.m., a corrupted voting machine was reported at the Ellsworth Firehouse Polling Station in Ward 24 of New Haven. One of the two voting machines at the site did not include Dan Malloy, Endorsed Democrat running for Governor, on the ballot. The Malloy campaign is filing a complaint with the Secretary of the State’s Office asking for the disqualification of all ballots cast from that voting machine prior to the discovery and the immediate inspection of all voting machines in New Haven.

The ballot omission was reported by Al London, a Malloy volunteer, after a voter declared: "My candidate is not on this list." The machine was then examined and shut down by polling officials.

"What’s even more disturbing is that this is now part of a pattern of corrupted voting machines in New Haven," said Malloy Campaign Manager Chris Cooney. "The exact same problem of candidates’ names missing from the ballot occurred during Democratic Town Committee elections in March of this year. They should know better."
