Lawsuit Seeks to Void Bilbray-Busby Results

Lawsuit seeks to void Bilbray-Busby results

Recount demanded in 50th District vote

“The thing you've got to know about using computers in the election is that computers do whatever they're told to do, without any regard to law, ethics or morality,” Lehto said, adding he believes some machines were tampered with.

“There is nothing unusual or different about the way that we distribute election supplies to supervising poll workers,” Haas said, noting that poll workers first must pass a training class.

In an interview yesterday, Busby – not a party to the lawsuit – distanced herself from its central premise that Bilbray's election was illegitimate and should be declared void.

“I have no reason to question the legitimacy of the election or the results of it,” she said.

“But I do respect the fact that some citizens have some concerns. Trust and confidence in our voting process is central to trusting our democratic process.”

2. While I can appreciate the belicacy of Busby's position,
her inability to call an obvious fraud, with the use of illegally certified machines and the "sleepover," leaves me with a distaste and some questions about her own competence and clarity.

3. She's trying to stay above the fray
This is a smart tactic. She wins either way the lawsuit goes. She is not looking like she's trying to usurp the will of the people. You can't call an election a fraud without PROOF. And it's not wise as a candidate to piss off the people who run the elections.

7. You don't have to prove fraud, just a lack of democracy.
When votes are counted on these machines by private corporations using trade secret, proprietary software without audits or any verification whatever, THIS IS NOT DEMOCRACY.

Call it what you will, it's not democracy. It's more like a video game.

There's no reason to have confidence any election in the US anymore, whether the machines go on slumber parties for a couple weeks before the election or not. That's just a little more reason to be suspicious and call it un-democratic.

4. Busby Campaign Slogan
Since she has to run again in November, she should campaign with the following:

"Francine Busby, I will NOT stand up you, myself, or Democracy."

6. Perhaps...
I'm biased, you know, as one who stands up for Democracy before it has so obviously disappeared

8. "no reason to question"?
That goes farther than just trying to "stay above the fray".

Figures considering her support of cheap labor from illegals.
