President Bush is officially jumping into the Ohio governor's race Wednesday evening by appearing at a fund-raiser for fellow Republican and gubernatorial candidate Ken Blackwell. Bush will join Blackwell at a reception at the Kirtland Hills home of businessman Ed Crawford. His visit could cause some traffic delays during the first part of the afternoon rush hour. Blackwell is charging supporters $1,000 per person to enter the event - $10,000 to be photographed with the president.

The fund-raiser is billed as a "country reception."

Tickets for the general reception that starts at

Bush has stayed on his Crawford, Texas, ranch this week, allowing the Democrats their moment of undivided attention. But Friday, the campaign resumes. The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that it will start with a fundraising trip to Kirtland Hills, a small suburb of Cleveland.

A $2,000-a-plate dinner at the 71-acre estate of industrialist Edward Crawford will benefit the RNC's Victory 2004 campaign. The president will speak there after first speaking at the International Children's Games. The visit to the games, of course, cuts makes this an official visit instead of merely a campaign stop and allows taxpayers to foot much of the travel costs. Since Ohio is a major swing state, this likely to see Bush at more fundraisers and events.

Welcome back to business-as-usual, Mr. President.

Bush's Rangers and Pioneers

Rangers are an elite class of fundraisers created for the 2004 election cycle who have bundled at least $200,000 for the Bush campaign. Pioneers are those who have pledged to gather $100,000. For the 2004 campaign, there are 221 Rangers and 327 Pioneers, so far. In the 2000 campaign, 550 fundraisers signed up to be Pioneers, and at least 241 of them reached their goal. 3. George made a promise to ole Kenny
now he is going to try to make good on that...I say c'mon in George, associating yourself OPENLY with Blackwell is a good thing right now. He did this "for" DeWhine a few weeks ago (as much as DeWhine's campaign did NOT want him to)

While all the other Repub candidates in Ohio are desperately trying to disassociate themselves with even the (R) next to their name by failing to mention they are Repubs in their campaign ads and literature, dildos like Blackwell and DeWhine are embracing the serpent that will bite them.

President Bush plans to stop during a visit to Northeast Ohio today to thank some of the hundreds of rescue workers who braved sewage and raging waters to save people in last week's flood.

Bush, who declared Lake County a disaster area Tuesday, will talk to several fire chiefs, emergency workers and U.S. Rep. Steve LaTourette during a visit to the Lake County Emergency Management Agency in Kirtland.

He is coming to Ohio for a reception at the Kirtland Hills home of businessman Ed Crawford, who is raising money for Ken Blackwell's bid for governor.

"While the president is in Lake County, he wants to hear firsthand about the ongoing recovery efforts," said White House spokesman Alex Conant...

At the start of Wednesday's afternoon rush hour, President Bush's motorcade will travel from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport to Mentor, where he will meet with officials from the Lake County Emergency Management Agency, and then to a fund-raiser in Kirtland Hills. He is expected to return to the airport by 7:30 p.m. Local police will briefly close roads along his route.
