ES&S miscounts in AR & IA possibly spreading: lawsuits pending?
From Voters Unite.

The original miscount in IA may be just one of several races miscounted. The officialdom there would like to sweep it under the rug to deflect criticism but another race had the same sorts of suspicious numbers and the loser there is demanding a recount.

The same thing is happening in AR where one race has been overturned and another loser is crying foul and demanding recounts.

The links that follow detail the clean-up operations underway and the efforts to put the train back on the track after the wreck.

First AR. The first link headlines the already overturned election. In that one a Dem was preparing to sue when the recount showed she had won and now she is weighing her options.

"Arnell Willis had pledged to sue. However his lawyer now says his client has yet to decide whether to file a lawsuit."

Now IA. Here, the Pottawatamie wreck apparently was more extensive than first reported. Overturned trains and torn up tracks have been discovered beyond the initial point of collision and new casualties are being found in ditches along the way.

5. And the Dem SOS of Arkansas hired Glenn Newkirk
Edited on Sun Jun-25-06 09:59 AM by WillYourVoteBCounted
Arkansas SOS Charlie Daniels (thats his real name) hired Glenn Newkirk to assist in the RFP process,
and now has hired him to return to cover his butt.

Arkansas had six counties out of 75 that the voting machines worked
in.

All the rest failed, they couldn't vote for days on end and never
could get the dre's to work so they created ballots on PC's and voted
that way

IN NC, we had a massive installation of new ES&S machines, but
we centralized testing and programming (not that I am a fan of that),
and we had paper ballots on hand for curbside voting that could be used
in case of DRE breakdown. (23 DRE counties have 100% DREs).

IN Arkansas, where was the testing of the machines?

If the machines passed testing (doubtful), then where were the emergency backup
paper ballots?

Daniels was caught with his pants down, he gave his deputy SOS'husband a no
bid contract to re-do the 24 karat capitol dome while the voting
machines were melting down.

Arkansas has so many precincts for its size that it could use one DRE per
precinct. Really teeny precincts.

This in fact encourages DRE use.

Further, where the heck do you get enough poll workers when you have 2 to 3 times
the normal number of precincts?

In North Carolina, we based our law on the assumption that vendors will let you
down every step of the way unless you criminalize it -

civil and criminal penalties.

11. that was sad
They almost had a law, it passed unanimously in the house, but
Linda Lamone and the Democratic led Senate Committe not only blocked the law,
they took the money the gov had allocated for optical scanners
and earmarked it for Diebold Electronic poll books.

Its a smack in the face - here the republican governor and the entire
house wanted verified voting, and a dem led committee thwarted it.

Sad sad sad.
