Diebold takes blame for bad voting cards

The company that sold Kern County its $5 million touch-screen voting machines took full responsibility Tuesday for last week's troubled local election.

Diebold Election Systems Inc. officials told Kern County supervisors that bad voting cards and bad communication caused voters to be turned away from many Kern polls on June 6.

A recent Diebold security software upgrade turned voting cards the county bought in 2004 into useless sheets of plastic.

And Diebold officials didn't tell the county it needed to "clear" the cards so they could be used by the new software.

Volunteer w/ precinctcaptains.org and work your precinct. It is how we take our state back.
