River Valley Recount Finished

NBC 15

After two days of recounting ballots, The River Valley School District confirms its referendum has passed.

The canvassing board completed the recount Wednesday, and the referendum passed by a margin of 40 votes.

The passage of the referendum means the district can exceed revenue caps by one point two million dollars for each of the next five years.
The money will support maintenance and repairs and will cover general operation budget shortfalls.

A miscommunication between a poll worker and a school district official, led to a flame war at the DU ELection reform forum.
