Democracy has been neutered
Our democracy is like the Titantic.

It has hit an iceberg, and is sinking. The only lifeboats available are for the very richest. The rich and the powerful, to the Lifeboats!

Daily, without cease, the stories that we are allowed to see, or scrounge from the depths of the few honest journalists left, tell the sad tale of the ship sinking.

They tell of the deaths of the leaders of the republic: The Kennedy's, MLK, Paul Wellstone. They relate how some voices are marginalized, how some are beaten by the long arm of the law into silence. How the rich and their friends have managed to take over control of the once free press which once used to report on the shenanigans of the rich and powerful.

Now the tales come down to us of how our one singular voice has been stolen: The right to voice who we want to represent us has been taken away by the very jackals once elected to represent us. Look at who owns elections in this country: The rich and the powerful.

We are going down.

2. democracy is dead.
there is no grey area with democracy. a small amount of election fraud is inevitable in any democracy. but when one side owns the democratic process and is responsible for huge swings between voter intent and outcome, democracy is dead. they have a lock on the system. we can only try to break through. until then, democracy is dead. the saddest part of it all, is that 90% of the american people do not realize it is dead. they actually think Bush won.

5. The biggest blow of late
Is this move to void the media of all but "official word" from the administration.
The recent end of The Federal Whistleblower Protection Act and The White House's move to criminalize investigative reporting by labeling every small detail as "classified" has achieved a major defeat for Democracy.

Next, I expect and end to the Freedom Of Information Act......It's coming.
