STOP OH POLL TAX! Email from Homeless Advocate:
One of the many affronts of the OH HB 3, is the required ID. This is nothing more than the modern day equivalent of a poll tax!. Here is a touching email I received from an advocate for low income and homeless people. (YES, REPUKES, THEY ARE CITIZENS TOO AND HAVE THE RIGHT TO CAST A VOTE!):

Thanks Dorri. I work with homeless and low income people at Trinity
Church on Capital Square. My main mission is to help people get ID's. On
Dec. 1 I had almost $400 to assist with ID's at $8.50 a crack. By the
next morning my funds were gone and I have turned away untold #s of
people since then who are in need of an ID to get services. When I heard
about the voting ID debacle I knew it was to eliminate the vote of poor
people. One more way to disenfranchise them. Makes me sick.

THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY NEEDS TO RAISE HOLY HELL OVER THIS!

2. if you are homeless
how can you vote? you are supposed to vote in a certain congressional, electoral, assembly districts. but if you are homeless which polling place do you go to?

there must be a solution to this, but what is it (other than of course making sure all have housing)

3. The bill says a social security card is acceptable voter ID.
Sure it's a hassle to show ID to vote. Some states only require a signature, except for first-time voters who've registered by mail (that's a HAVA requirement). But compared to the stuff they tried to pull in GA, this particular Ohio requirement is a walk in the park!

Here's the text of the bill:

http://www.legislature.state.oh.us/BillText126/126_HB_3_RS_N.html

If you have a couple of HOURS, read it.

Then give 'em hell! But doing so without having the facts doesn't help the cause, does it?
