BATON ROUGE, La. State elections officials say the state will spend 31-point-one (m) million dollars to buy five-thousand-33 new voting machines and related equipment after a contract is signed to seal the deal next week.
Commissioner of Elections Angie Rogers LaPlace says state officials negotiated the contract with Sequoia Voting Systems of Oakland, California, after the company submitted the lowest bid of 37 (m) million dollars.
