Schwarzenegger Predicts "Upset Victory at the Polls"
As polls show Schwarzenegger's propositions trailing badly (I just heard it on AAR); Schwarzenegger Predicts "Upset Victory at the Polls."

Plenty of Diebold and ES&S equipment in the state.

Evidence that election fraud occurred when Schwarzenegger 'won' the recall election: In Diebold counties votes were siphoned from Grey (D) to third-party candidates (sorry no link, I'll try to find it tomorrow if someone wants it -- Mark Crispin Miller posted it, county by county analysis).

I feel sick. Very sick. :puke:

I feel angry :nuke: and very, very sad

My bet: By tomorrow evening the number of DU'ers, the number of US citizens who believe in the evil of election fraud will be higher.

9. He'll lose even if turnout is less than expected.
The people of this state simply do not support his extremist corporatist agenda. People think corporations are a problem, not organized nurses, police, teachers and fire fighters.

Let's just say: The stars are well-aligned for our side of things. And I did not feel that this was the case with Kerry vs. Bush, and certainly not during the recall election two years ago.

10. Not that this is any excuse not to vote early and often!
Everyone get your friends and family to the polls to say "NO!" to this agenda.

2. my prediction: banana republicans will use this to 'prove' machines fair.
and then steal '06 and '08.

they know they gotta maintain the illusion. that means 'losing' a few visible ones. they can afford to lose a few props.

5. Fuck that! The only PROOF that
machines are fair is when they have a PAPER TRAIL!

Please Dems in California..do not let arnie steal this proposition election..

"At Arnold Schwarzenegger's "victory" party on Election Night 2004, the governor stood onstage and basked in ballot proposal wins for Propositions 68 and 70, both about Indian gaming, and against 66, which would have changed the Three Strikes Law. But Republicans got nothing else out of him -- not one seat in the Assembly, not one seat in the Senate, no new congressional offices. One year later, it's no surprise he's again pushing his agenda via special election. But Assemblymember Jackie Goldberg (D-Los Angeles) says this particular slate of propositions is more than just another end-run around the state's elected legislators. She calls it the "corporate takeover of California."

This time, she argues, the issues on the ballot are carefully linked together and designed -- using corporate money -- to advance conservative interests and to keep Democrats away from the polls. She claims the governor even said as much in an e-mail to supporters. If he succeeds, she says, it's a "catastrophe," creating a governorship that no longer needs a legislature: "They're saying, 'Heck with this notion of democracy. It's so burdensome. It's so time-consuming. It gets in the way.'" She calls it a short-sighted act of political sabotage. Is Arnold set on a course to cripple the government?

Why do you call these propositions the "corporate takeover of California"?

Jackie Goldberg: If you take a look at who's paying for all of this, it's really extraordinarily large businesses. And they're not even all California corporations - the U.S. Chamber of Commerce has spent a quarter of a million dollars on one of them. That's in addition to the California Chamber, which tends to represent the largest corporations. You've got all the major pharmaceutical companies spending a fortune confusing the people about Propositions 78 and 79. You've got huge amounts of pharmaceutical money in Proposition 75. In fact, there is not a single one of these that isn't being financed by the largest corporations and the biggest players -- not just in California. The governor has fund-raised in New York, in New Jersey, in Florida. They're after a Tom DeLay-kinda takeover like."

Arnie put all his marbles in one basket.
If he loses on these props, he may as well resign.

3. Agreed
If election results do not match what is expected then we need to raise a huge stink about this!!!! Remember, Bush may have obtained his so called "mandate" in 2004 by corrupting the results in California and elsewhere.

6. You go dude -- I hope you are right --
Remember that they can flip results completely (turn 70% vote against into a 70% vote for) just as easily as they can move by a few percentage points.

14. The Los Angeles public radio stations have dubbed it the cold Civil War
California's secession. Naturally, it won't be a literal one, but a figurative one.

23. Heres a neutral link...
http://calvoter.org/voter/elections/2005/special/props/index.html

My own take is not neutral --

73 - The daughter molesting stepdad protection act

74 - The shit on new teachers and make public schools even worse act

75 - The shit on unions act

76 - The who gives a fuck about schools when our good friends in big business need state money act

77 - The let's have a bunch of old republican white dudes discourage everyone else from voting act.

78 - The let's cover the asses of our good friends in the pharmaceutical industry act.

I think when people voted to "Join Arnold" they didn't understand he meant to screw them.
