So I just talked to a local election law lawyer re: petitions.
We have the evil touch screens in my county during early voting, and more are on the way, purchased by the County Commissioners.

BUT, in some cases, it is possible for citizens of the area (not sure if it's city or county) to circulate a petition to get a new law on the books. Anyhoo, you file to start the petition, then you circulate the petition, you have to get so many sigs in 60 or 90 days, and then you get to have an election on the new law.

So... she's looking into it. Keep your fingers crossed for us.. There's so much leftover energy here, if we are allowed to do this, I bet we could get the f*cker circulated and finalized before the end of the year.

Well, maybe not quite THAT quick. :D

So, hey, other states, counties, municipalities... think about it, hey? Californians, ya'll have statewide initiative and referendum, right? what other states do have I&R?

1. Please let me know what you find out? I will add it to my site so that
folks who are ready to take on the election reform issues can do so.

2. An election that will be held on the fraudulent machines?
That should go well.

3. Most are in the West
Oregon was the first. They came out of the timber/mining barons running everything and the final inevitable backlash resulted in these very progressive and democratic institutions - Initiative and recall
