Woman of the Year

Les Femmes du Monde, a Dallas philanthropic organization, will present its 16th Woman of the Year Award to Karen Hughes, a longtime political adviser to President George W. Bush.

She is currently awaiting Senate confirmation of her nomination to the post of the U.S. State Department's undersecretary for public diplomacy and public affairs.

The award will be presented at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Frontiers of Flight Museum at an event benefiting the Child Life Program of Children's Medical Center Dallas and the World Affairs Council of Greater Dallas.

You know how these "x" of the Year awards work. A charitable organization approaches a well known individual and says, you know, we think you are woman of the year. And the negotiation begins. They'll name you if you'll show up and cooperate with drawing just as big a crowd as can be drawn. The crowd consists of people who like you or owe you, so you download your contacts form the old PDA. The list is contacted and those who want to kiss your ass, Ms. Woman of the year, pay a large sum for a lousy "capon" dinner and the presentation. At the end of the day, the charity walks off with some big bucks for their cause and you, the honoree, can brag about it. What a deal.

10. I shot an arrow into the air, and where it fell, I know not where
Guess it hit somebody. Glad you liked it. Karen Hughes just brings out that special something in me. She's sort of a cross between Rosie O'Donnell and a Saturn V rocket with all the charm of a tarantula.

"Women of the World".

Wait just a minute here...I sense a pattern. Bush on five weeks of vacation, arrogant attitude...Karen Hughes honored by a "Texas" organization with a French name...?

We are being run by a "Vichy" goverment!

Clearly it's not actually France because they are too busy having sex and eating good food, so who really is in charge? Tin foil time!

FYI - the French pronunciation of "W" is "dooble-vay". Let's infiltrate and get an underground movement going - oh wait (he said cheering up noticably), we already are!

(edited for a lead finger before I meant to post)

17. The Neocons are so 'tough-cute'..."redefining reality" again...
Edited on Wed Aug-17-05 03:52 AM by tiptoe
...Just like Rumsfeld redefining "looting of national treasures in post-invasion Iraq" as "Iraqis expressing their Freedom!"...

...even as they continued to "liberate" 400 tons of once-bunker-secured real explosives from under the noses of an ill-equipped, under-staffed "coalition force"...explosives which now comprise the real IEDs that have "redefined reality" for nearly-1900 dead and -15000 wounded Americans, many maimed for life...for a 'pack of lies'.

Are all American corporate executives as narrow-sighted, incompetent, and 'unreal' as Rumsfeld and Cheney and Rice?...presuming these "executives" express some of the "highest qualities" of American corporate leadership? And they pose as "Christian" yet act like <fill in the blank>.

Tsk, tsk...Dissolve away such negativity: Just award 'em all "Bushie Medals of Freedom" and elevate them to hero status! There! That'll settle it for the courts and the New World Order history books: "Gild by association!"

(I wonder if WHIG-member Ms. Hughes will be leaving her job soon...Seems a pattern to be "honoured" just as personnel are about to duck out on the Bush administration. Nah, it's not a Bushie Medal of Freedom award.)

C'monnnn Patrick Fitzgerald!!! Be a Saint and clean out the snakes in Washington DC!!

Fraud in Election 2004, Fraud in War, Fraud in 2000...Fraud in... 9/11???

BTW, speaking of 9/11...the Carlyle Group...Did that global investment firm lose many business competitors that were tenants at the destroyed World Trade Center???
