I met Sen. Barbara Boxer today and said "voting reform"!
While wandering the aisles today at BookExpo, I suddenly and unexpectedly found myself face-to-face with Sen. Barbara Boxer. I seized the moment. Here's a "transcript" of our "conversation":

Me: "I love you. Voting reform. Voting reform. Voting reform. Please!"

BB: "Thank you."

I could tell from her reaction that she knew where I was coming from and appreciated my concern.

Please give 'em hell, Senator!

3. BarbaraBoxer.com Is An Evolving Site
No one understands better than she how important it is for us to have meaningful election reform with teeth before the mid-term elections. I'm not sure how to foment its passage but concur that it must happen sooner rather than later. Every day which passes without it gives KKKarl more of an edge.

5. I have to tell you, that disturbed me
I didn't want to mention it on this thread for obvious reasons, but since you brought it up: I walked right up to her. (Try doing that to DeLay!)

There was someone standing right beside her (whom I thought might have been her agent or publisher) and a cluster of people just beyond that person. But I walked right up from the other direction. I had a big bookbag and another bag too. I won't go into more detail about security, but I was disturbed.

I may have even seen her alone an hour earlier. A woman, walking alone, walked quickly past me, and I thought to myself, "Is that Barbara Boxer???" (I had read this morning that she would be doing a book signing, but I didn't know whether she would be there Friday, Saturday or Sunday.)

11. Well, I was kind of half kidding about that
I don't think that hardly any Senators have bodyguards, do they?

But in these times I wouldn't want to be perceived by this Administration as posing a threat to them.

10. interesting
Someone said something about that to Randi Rhoades too. These are dangerous times and BushInc. does seem to have a history.

9. She could start by talking to Connie McCormack, head of elections in...
...Los Angeles, who advocates for Diebold and paperless voting, and whose best friend is the former chief salesperson for Diebold in California. Connie McCormack is a DEMOCRAT. And she could also talk to the CA DEMOCRATIC legislative leadership who let Bush Cartel black ops destroy Kevin Shelley, our anti-Diebold Sec of State, a DEMOCRAT elected by the people, who was trying to get Diebold's source code (and sued the bastards), and has now been replaced by a Schwarzenegger patsy appointee.

If we just had fewer corrupt DEMOCRATS, we could get it done. Please, Barbara, help clean up the Democratic corner of this horrible HAVA mess.
