County election records of voter party affiliation
Edited on Mon Apr-18-05 12:43 PM by icehenge
I'm looking for some help with a question of mine on government
records of voter party affiliation (Democrat / Republican / ).
I'm think these records are public as I've seen voter records
for the city wide elections that showed who voted in which
past city elections events.

So my question is how do I properly request to see these records
of who is registered under what party affiliation (Dem/Rep)?
Middle Tennessee, Williamson County.

1. You would have to go to your...
County Voter Registration department and request the information. If you want the database, you may have to pay for it - here in NV it is penny a person. Also, your county Democratic party might have the data from the county as well...

2. I sent an email to Ann Beard
If she responds I'll let you know.

My email was as follows....

"Hi Ann
Sorry to bother you.

I would like to know how I can obtain the county numbers on party affiliation, based on voter registrations.
I would simply like to find the percentages of each party in the county.

Thank you in advance
William Hung"

(yes, my real name was on the original)

3. Thanks
I just discovered how you found her email address, I should have
found that myself, duh.
I did though want to know the names and addresses of the voters.
Is that public record also?

4. NP...But I don't know the answer to your question.
I'm really not sure if that info is publicly available, and I don't wanna guess.
You might wanna repost the question in the subject line, so others might answer it.

7. Talk to your Democratic party office.
Ours actually has a computer game where you can put in someone's name to see if they have already voted. This is helpful with GOTV efforts when you want to see if your friends have already voted absentee. These Dem party folks have all this voter data every which way from Sunday..

12. Call your local election office
if it is public record in your state your should be able to buy a list if it is for research purposes. If you get flak, check with your local dem Party regarding the law. Many county officials don't know the open recoreds laws well.

14. This May Help
I checked your county results out and we didn't do too well. I would say that the Repukes have a advantage in your county. :(
