Just got email from Michael Moore asking for ideas on next move. Tell 'em.
Just now got this from MM. So, anyone have any ideas for him? :)

Friends,

How's it going? Ready for the next step?

Let me know what you've been up to and any ideas you have about what our next move should be (write me at the addresses below).

Meanwhile, I'll be in conclave this week handing out goodie bags and running for pope. Wish me well!

Yours,

Michael Moore

2. Our next move.
We have to do something to stop this theocracy the right wingers are forcing down our throat. Secondly something has to be done to prevent the impending war on Iran. Third, we need to at least take bake the House in '06. Mostly we need to spread left wing media and start a left wing cable news outlet to counter FOX. AAR is doing a great job, but we need a lot to catch up. Micheal want to head up our answer to FOX News?

63. Investigate and report: the RNC
How about MM does a documentary of how the Republican party was stolen by John Birchers and the Religious Right, beginning in the late 60's and early seventies? DO you think Republicans would like to know what happened to their party? How about exposing the fact that the same guy who established the Moral Majority, and the Committee for National Defense (CND), a committee whose members sit on the boards of over 300 interlocking organizations that comprise the present day RNC, co-authored the Left Behind series intended as a handbook for bringing on Armageddon?

The Guy? Tim LeHaye, a sixties failed Louisiana tent preacher who came to engineer the takeover of the Republican Party and the present-day hierarchical structure we call the RNC, and who single handily convinced 20 million evangelical Christians to work toward realizing the end of the world. Don't know much about him? Learn - KNOW THINE ENEMY and the enemy of civilization as we know it!

10. How about the New Bankruptcy Law that
will prey on middle/poor class, the elderly, sick people, people who lose jobs due to outscourcing, etc., but gives the rich a big loophole? Why did they want this bill to pass? Why haven't they explained WHY this reform is necessary for Americans because the current system has worked well and US trustees/Judges are the ones to decide for years if people filing for bankruptcy deserve to get their debts discharged? Did they (who voted to pass this bill) get bribes from banks and credit companies which would be illegal, wouldn't it?? What made them bend over for those corporations?

"Loads of people have filed bankruptcy Ð Mark Twain, Buster Keaton, Walt Disney. Bankruptcy is a very American safety net. It's part and parcel of the American dream." Ð Keith Lundin, a federal bankruptcy judge in Tennessee

23. Ditto. Here's my message.
Michael,

I'm a PhD (with an extra MA in a different field) who is concerned (to put it mildly) about the vote rigging that has presently hi-jacked our democracy. It really started in GA in 02 with one of the most obvious election frauds in history. Check out the pre-election polls and exit polls (now unavailable on the IT) and compare them with the alleged results. Check out Bev Harris's Black Box Voting story about the GA election. Then check out Steven Freeman's (with 8 or 9 other PhD statisticians) analysis of the 04 election, which Kerry won by a comfortable margin. If this isn't the makings of a blockbuster movie I don't know what is. Investigate GEMS in Vancouver (Diebold's vote-rigging programming division), try (if you can find him) to interview Jeffrey Dean, the guy who served 5 years in the slammer for embezzlement by falsifying computer programs in a sophisticated scheme over a 2 1/2 year period then hired on probably to write the program for the GA Diebold fiasco. The Electronic voting scam is the biggest con game / scam in American history, maybe world history. There's never been a better story in the history of the world.

25. I told him to do a movie based on the Jefferson Bible
How about a movie about Jesus based on the Jefferson Bible?

Michael,
If you produced a movie based on the Jefferson Bible it would certainly be considered controversial right from the start! It would most certainly make a tone of money but more importantly it would bring to light in a major way HOW our founders thought! A story of Jesus who was very liberal, looked out for the poor and the sick and did not judge even hookers.

The following website describes Jefferson's beliefs in this way:
Jefferson discovered a Jesus who was a great Teacher of Common Sense. His message was the morality of absolute love and service. Its authenticity was not dependent upon the dogma of the Trinity or even the claim that Jesus was uniquely inspired by God. Jefferson saw Jesus as

a man, of illegitimate birth, of a benevolent heart, (and an) enthusiastic mind, who set out without pretensions of divinity, ended in believing them, and was punished capitally for sedition by being gibbeted according to the Roman law.
In short, Mr. Jefferson's Jesus, modeled on the ideals of the Enlightenment thinkers of his day, bore a striking resemblance to Jefferson himself.

http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/religion/jesus/jefferson.html

This would be a great movie to start a National discussion of who our founders were and what kind of ideas our country is founded upon. It's a movie that NEEDS to be made and you are someone who could and should make it happen! Please consider my suggestion Michael!

32. I thought it would be nice if he did a documentary

that talked to U.S. workers whose jobs had been outsourced, then talked to the Mexican workers who got those jobs, until they tried to organized, and who then found the jobs outsourced once more to China, and then a look at the Chinese working conditions and wages for those same jobs, wrapped up by tying it all to a big corporation that has already paid reparations for using slave labor in WWII, showing the history, and then having Michael barge in with his crew to put their PR people and CEOs on the spot.

I don't know if a specific job can be traced like that, but it would certainly make fascism more obvious.

here's a link about it...

http://comingsoon.net/news/topnews.php?id=7160

Michael Moore tells Variety he met with Harvey Weinstein and they plan to start working now on Fahrenheit 9/11½. "We want to get cameras rolling now and have it ready in two-three years," Moore told columnist Army Archerd.

"We want to document and commercialize it," added Moore, "Fifty-one percent of the American people lacked information (in this election) and we want to educate and enlighten them. They weren't told the truth. We're communicators and it's up to us to start doing it now. The official mourning period is over today and there is a silver lining -- George W. Bush is prohibited by law from running again."

47. that's why it's important we ALL give him What He Asked For. What is
important to us and WHY. Can't hurt, and it might help. He's got much footage of Florida and Ohio (among others that crews were at) at least documenting the long lines -- etc. He might be like Robert Koehler, who before going to Nashville last week, just thought the elections were messed up, mishandled, etc. Until he went to Nashville and HEARD the people and HEARD the numbers. http://www.commonwonders.com/

I'm not going to second guess him, but I am going to tell him what's on my mind. (FWIW I wrote to him about machine allocation disparity in Ohio immediately after the election.)

60. I haven't given up. I've sent letters to a whole slew of places and at
least one time the complaints I (and thousands of others had) were taken seriously enough to investigate "vote switching" on machines in one Ohio County (Yellowsprings maybe? I'm not at my computer with my emails). This was after NPR had their "voting myths" segment with Pam Fessler and, and, Robert.... (drawing blank, Sigel?) -- the segment with the Dixiecrat explanation for Florida, etc.

Sure, I might be wasting my time -- but when it comes down to it, I want them to take action, or at least Kick Themselves for Not being the first to report on something. I feel -- if enough people do it -- they might start getting the picture (that they should have gotten 5 months ago -- but hey, some film has a very slow developing time....)

NPR irked me the most on January 6 -- their tone and reporting were terrible, and I let them know that, too. One of the things that really irritated me is that they were saying Boxer and Tubbs-Jones were doing this on their own -- I invited NPR's reporters to find out how many thousands of faxes, phone calls and letters ALL of the Representatives in the House and Senate received, that it was the PEOPLE who asked for their representation, but, you know, I must have missed the report in which they gave these numbers.

57. I've wondered that too. Or maybe threatened? He doesn't seem like the
type to bow to threats, though. Maybe he just has his own agenda. I don't mind so much if he doesn't get on board, but when he makes statements like Bush won and gets into the whole what do we have to diffrently to win next time thing, he harms what we are working so hard to do. But then, Al Franken is there too, and MoveOn sure isn't getting it, even after all their members named election reform as the number one thing they wanted to work on. It blows me away how they can't or don't see what is so obvious, so then it leaves us wondering if it's that they can't or don't, or there is another reason.

66. Michael Moore, please promote the "Who Got Glitched?" DVD
I reckon the single most constructive thing Michael Moore could do for the world right now would be to put his heart into promoting the very exciting and informative "Who Got Glitched?" DVD from the LA teach-in on election reform.

A simple recommendation from Michael Moore, posted to his mailing list, would boost sales of the DVD enormously.

And although the DVD might be seen as a competing product, I actually think that promoting it would benefit Mike later. After all, Mike can only make one new documentary every so often, so his fans are waiting impatiently for something else to watch between now and the release of his next movie. But if he recommends something for us to watch in the meantime, then it will maintain and increase loyalty to the Michael Moore "brand".

Mind you, I would recommend that he first contact the people at CitizensAct to warn them, so that they can make preparations for a flood of requests. :)

Details of the DVD below. I got it last week and I must say, the production values are surprisingly good. The DVD itself is neatly printed, the cover is well designed, and Sheri sent me a detailed list of contributors, plus additional information about "How to Organize an Election Reform Teach-In". She was very prompt and helpful, like a local baker delivering steaming hot, handmade bread with great personal pride.

Best,
Paddy.

'Why does this important filmmaker sleep in his van?"

Hello folks,
Steve Brown spent 42 days, 12 hours a day, editing
the DVD of our "Who Got Glitched?" Los Angeles
Teach-in on Election Reform. WITHOUT PAY

Thanks to Steve, (and Kip Humphries) that DVD will be
handed to the 300 + delegates of the California
Democratic Convention on Saturday. (tonight!)

Thanks to Steve, President Jimmy Carter received this
DVD with voting rights activists at the hearings in
Atlanta. (Carter is head of a national commission on election reform.)

Now that the DVD is finished, Steve has set off to
document the couple from Veterans for Peace who are
traveling America, setting up the 1000 crosses in
various cities to not just stir controversy, but to create a
safe place for public grief.

Steve gives up alot to do the work that needs to be
done, and he does it willingly, but he needs to eat.
When he's on the road, he needs to sleep in a motel,
not the back of his van.

Let's support our freedom fighters on the front lines.

Preview and order the "Who Got Glitched?" DVD at our
website: www.citizensact.org
http://citizensact.org/paypal.html

Citizens Act will pay Steve out of the profits.

And of course, when you host those house parties,
Democracy will profit, too.

Onward,
Sheri Myers
