Whoopi Goldberg's Swipe at Hollywood billboards

Funnywoman Whoopi Goldberg has hit back at Republicans gloating about President George W Bush's election victory - by sending them a box of chocolates accompanied by a cutting letter. Right-wing group Citizens United has been renting billboards all over Hollywood to poke fun at high-profile celebrities who opposed Bush's re-election campaign. A poster bearing images of Goldberg, Michael Moore, Barbra Streisand, as well as other ardent Democrat celebrities, features the jibe, "Four more years. Thank you, Hollywood!" Goldberg responded by sending the confectionary with a note to Citizen United's Washington headquarters which reads, "Gentlemen: I didn't realize how little faith you had in your candidate. To give so much power to folks like myself is amazing. I thought you all said that the President won because of what he stood for, and now I come to find out that the only reason he got elected was because of people like me. This doesn't say much for your candidate. Enjoy the chocolate." When staff members confirmed the chocolates had definitely come from Goldberg they immediately ate them with glee.

6. And I wish...
Howard Dean were President, we had a cure for all diseases, universal worldwide good health car, universal worldwide good education, cold fusion engines, and world peace.

But, we are dealing with reality, and we should not count on Hollywood personalities to fight our battles for us.

That billboard, by the way, is not too far from where I live. I have to go check it out some time soon, just to see it in person. And no, I will not egg it on behalf of DU...I think it serves a purpose that benefits the Democratic party more than the Republican party in motivating people to fight harder.

9. I think that's a great idea--but it just needs to be one opposing bill-
-board, near the * one. Could say something simple, like, "Do you know who counted your vote?" or "Do you know how your vote was 'counted'?

or...nominations?

Thanks, George Bush, for counting every vote! Not.

or

How DID George Bush get elected?

or

100,000 innocent Iraqis slaughtered by US bombs--that's something to be proud of?

(I like: "How DID George Bush get elected?" --maybe include solarbus url.)
