It appears that the sex will get 'em.
I made mention a week or so ago about a Catalyst event that would wake up the population. As I read the Gannon / Guckert fiasco unfold I'm inclined to think that this is shaping up to be said event. No, I'm not Kreskin! ;-)

We've got the Republicans down in Texas denying one another like it's going out of style. There's also the little matter of how the millionaire republican money ties into the evoting mess that's swept the country. And at the root of it all is the apparent Republican penchant for man on man action. Closet style!

How will this last revelation play inside their base constituency? Didn't they (Republicans) say just those left leaning Hollywood types practice that Sodom 'n Gomorra stuff?? Well apparently not! Someone should check the Young Republicans in Texas expenditures for KY purchases!

Then there's the little matter of Karl having taken a turd blossom sized dump on CBS. Well sure, we all know he can swing with the best of them, especially when he gets the first shot (ONLY SHOT!). But guess what? He didn't put the organization out of business. That's bad, for Karl. Why's that? Well, CBS has brown-stain like ratings now. What incentive do they have in towing the party line? Hmmm? None really. Nashua Advocate covers this quite well I think:
http://nashuaadvocate.blogspot.com/#110875847325439884

So let's sum this up real quick - Male prostitute in the White House press room with no real credentials. White House head of personnel married to said male prostitutes boss (so I've read, unless this info's changed). Male prostitute hanging out with Karl (at least once that we know of). Everyone associated with male prostitute is now denying ever having known one another (sure I could have typed that better, it's friday, I'm tired, you get the picture). And finally, Karl has "possibly" created his own worst nightmare by turning one of the big 3 news organizations against his "boss".

That's not a pretty picture for the neoCon bunch.

I'll close by saying "it's not the sex. It's the lying about it...!" Not a direct quote but close enough.

1. Well it would certainly sell some papers and
up the TV ratings. Too bad that's not what our repuke media is all about. They are there solely as a propaganda arm and the money never runs out.

If only Clinton would start publicly complaining and drawing comparisons to his own treatment. Even then, I doubt they would run with the story.

As always, hoping I'm dead wrong with my thoughts.

4. I hear ya typing...
But this is what the Nashaua Advocate had to say on the matter:

"In a stunning development -- which The Advocate can't help but feel is related to the revelation last fall that Karl Rove was possibly behind Rathergate and (therefore) CBS News's recent decline -- CBS News has gone out on a limb and made it clear that it suspects Karl Rove to be Jeff Gannon's White House Contact."

Really interesting read. I'd suggest you start at the top of the page and work your way down, it's worth your time.

9. This is what I'm seeing unfolding.
Sure, the boards of directors of all MSM corporations cross pollinate (pollute) at some juncture. But what we have here is a failure to communicate between Karl's desires and horrible ratings that instantly equal MONEY in ad fees!

CBS may be down with drinking Rovestown punch. As long as the money's there. Guess what, Karl fvcked them with the Dan Rather execution and they've felt it in the wallet ever since. Someone in the chain of command noticed that the "payoff" Karl had to have promised them for axing Rather never came through. So guess what? Those same people have now said "fvck u fat boy!" And have started a large, very ugly boulder down hill on the collective neoCon backsides.

For those playing the home game you have to remember - Karl, bush, and the rest, can only stay in power as long as the media plays along with their game. The moment one of the MSM companies steps away from them and goes for the big dollars / ratings / prestige that the public will provide for outing them, all bets are off.

If we see CBS continuing this trend of attacking Karl and the neoCon bunch you can bet that others will soon follow.

One question. Does CBS own a print publishing arm to their operation?

13. Agreed. All we need to do is have CBS see big $$$ in taking down Rove...
...and the neoCONsters and the firestorm (or boulder bash) will be well underway.

17. Leslie Stahl of 60 Minutes (CBS) was on Bill Maher tonight
She was quite candid about her suspicions----

just how did this person get a WH press pass?

They were all yucking it up about the "Man-Date".

Biden, who was also on the show, said it should be investigated by both Judiciary Committees of the House and Senate, but that the Chairman has to call for the investigation.

7. That idea that a sex scandal could derail a presidency is, frankly,
pretty well established in recent history, I'd say.

Except that it's really a better story this time.

:)

Was this confirmed?

The last I had heard it had not been confirmed... And there was a chance that her husband actually is connected to the QuinnGillespie group in DC. Both are Richard Powell's.

11. Yes! I remember that thread very well...
I really appreciated your perspective of the events, and found it compelling. If I remember correctly, many people began making predictions regarding when this administration would implode.

I would love for this Gannon/Guckert story to lead us to some big fish, just because I want it to happen NOW. I don't care which scandal, screwup, or leak turns out to be the Catalyst event, I'm just so ready for it to happen. One big plus if this is the event, is the effect it will have on the radical religious fundamentalists. Serious disappointment in their beloved Repuglican leaders, and theirs sins against God and nature!

Also, enjoyed this insight of yours: "Karl has "possibly" created his own worst nightmare by turning one of the big 3 news organizations against his "boss"." Hmmm...

Where's a link to this info, or do I have to stay tuned?

This story just gets more and more interesting!

18. This is how the KKK came down
after its resounding popularity in the 30's....

A scandal that was directly in counter to the morality values the klan preached just got all the biggots disgusted and they dropped out like flies.
