Hiding in Plain Sight: Jeff Gannon's Connection to the Inner Sanctum of the Oval Office
Over the weekend, we in the blogosphere learned the sordid details of a man called Jeff. A reporter with fake credentials, fake name and a past and present life that are less than acceptable for someone who is allowed to stand within 10 feet of the President of the United States. I will not repeat all the details in this article because they are readily available. What I do want to write about in this article is how deep within the inner circle of the Oval office does this go.

I've been researching James Guckert DBA Jeff Gannon for a few days. Some facts are emerging slowly that connect Gannon to the inner sanctum of the Oval Office. The question remains why? That I feel certain will reveal itself, in the Rovian style of bait and switch, within the next few days.

So here are the facts. James Guckert was hired by the Talon News Agency in early 2004 to be their White House Correspondant. Talon News, a totally Internet based news agency, was solely owned by GOPUSA, a so-called "volunteer" group supporting the ideology of the Bush Administration and the RNC.

Further researching the board of directors of GOPUSA, records within the public domain for any public or private corporation reveals the name of one Richard Powell, as a member of it's board.
See Richard Powells Bio from GOPUSA.com: (These links have since been removed from all GOPUSA sites, this is the cached Google page)

Richard Powell, is none other than the husband of Dina Powell, Assistant to the President as the White House Chief of Personnel.

3. Gannon was in the White House press room in Feb. 2003.
DailyKos is reporting this: <http://www.dailykos.com/story/2005/2/16/155840/912>

He was actually in the press room before Scott McClellan became press secretary. This was also before the creation of Talon News.

I apologize if someone else has posted this elsewhere.

5. Dina Powell, the West Wing's Hire Power
Link:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A64575-2005Jan10_2.html

"She is such an effective spokesperson for us, because she speaks Arabic and is an Arab woman and can stand up as a role model and as somebody who can defuse some of the misperceptions," says the vice president's daughter Liz Cheney, a former State Department official who recruited Powell to get involved in State Department initiatives for women in the Middle East. "She can lay out what our policy is and defend that at length."

Right.

8. This HR person thinks the White House is in TROUBLE
When this Gannon debacle bubbles into a trial, the HR folks are IN BIG TROUBLE. This is SUCH A BIG NO NO. Just another scandal to rack up for this bunch of criminals.

Waiting for the Impeachment WHILE THE SCANDALS KEEP UNFOLDING
