Blackwell requests sanctions against Arnebeck?!
NYT Editorial...

http://www.nytimes.com/2005/02/03/opinion/03thu2.html?ei=5070&en=2aff90a2f339f55d&ex=1107666000&pagewanted=print&position=

"...Ohio's attorney general, who represents Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell in the matter, has asked the State Supreme Court to sanction Mr. Arnebeck and the others for mounting a "frivolous" challenge. Even though their case was weak, these lawyers did a public service by raising concerns that many voters shared. The burden put on Ohio's courts by their challenge was minimal. Courts know what to do when they get a weak case: throw it out.

Imposing sanctions would be likely to deter people from raising concerns about future elections, and ultimately undermine public confidence in the electoral process. The Ohio Supreme Court should make it clear that people have the right to challenge election results without fear of retribution.

It is odd that Mr. Blackwell, of all people, is requesting sanctions. He made many bad decisions as Ohio's top elections official, including one to reject voter registrations filed on insufficiently thick paper, an order he later retracted. Mr. Blackwell and the officials responsible for the 10-hour lines have not been held accountable for putting unnecessary obstacles in the way of Ohio voters. It will be a poor reflection on our election system if the only ones punished are the lawyers who tried to point out these deficiencies."

5. with over 1000 pages of documentation able to be filed, including
statements of people from all over Ohio who had problems... this will hopefully bite Blackwell back.... some of need to respond with information about this fact -- and how it is NOT a weak case -- using information from the latest FressPress article

Ohio Attorney-General's attack on election protection attorneys draws mountain of documentation on state's stolen election, including new study on exit polls
by Steve Rosenfeld and Harvey Wasserman
February 3, 2005

"Stiff legal sanctions sought by Ohio's Republican Attorney General James Petro against four attorneys who have questioned the results of the 2004 presidential balloting here has produced an unintended consequence -- a massive counter-filing that has put on the official record a mountain of contentions by those who argue that election was stolen. 8. 'Katherine' Blackwell loves publicity, It'll cost him this time, though.
He's just giving Arnebeck the opportunity to present piles, perhaps mountains, of evidence with which to defend himself.

Keep shootin' yourself in the feet, Blackwell! You're doing it so well. Putz.

13. Not my joke originally
Since Kenneth Blackwell is this election's Katherine Harris (and shares the same first initial in his first name), DU dubbed him 'Katherine' Harris. ;) He earned it.

I got all the names typed correctly this time, merh!

I'm so proud.

20. So proud of you! It was just a long night last night and thinking
of that yellow haired snot will do that to anyone - the mind protects us you know!

Blackheart is more appropriate! Though if there was a well around and he fell down it, it would be black a very long time because not many people would hurry to help him, I'm afraid! :argh:

23. With this sick group, they probably relish how obvious they are
and how the sheeple don't see it! They laugh all the way to the bank! They laugh at Mr. & Mrs. John Q. Public, all they have to do is thump their bible and say "baby killers" and "abominations" and "no taxes" and they maintain their control and can walk out with everything they want, including our freedom! :argh:

I really, really hate the bastards! :nuke:

11. I wonder if Al Capone

could have asked for sanctions against the The Federal Inspector of Taxes or whatever. Hey, maybe Nixon should have asked for sanctions against old Sam Irving or whoever led the process. And maybe that wild character, currently enlightening right-wing radio audiences, G Gordon Liddy, too!

But, seriously, I doubt if there's a living soul on this planet, beyond the lunatic neocon fringe, who would/could have faulted the Big Dawg for requesting a certain Kenneth Starr to be sanctioned for his frivolously-conceived investigation into his personal sex life. Certainly, before the Bar of heaven, they will be held to account for presuming to act in God's place. "Who you think you are, that you should pass judgement on your fellows?"

14. Since you mentioned Nixon....
Congressman Conyers was a member of the Judiciary Committee in its 1974 hearings on the Watergate impeachment scandal.

He also wrote a letter to the Ohio Supreme Court denouncing this bid for sanctions against the Ohio 4.

16. I think he'll be one of the first to go down.
He's expendable. He's served his purpose. The dimwit and his malicious troop don't have any further use for him, and they're so over-bloated with their "mandate", they won't think his fall from grace will affect them in the least.
I also believe they will be wrong.
