Letter from John Kerry and phone # to call 1-866-876-4490
This is part of the message he sent!

Our Put Kids First campaign is drawing national attention to the needs of the 11 million American children living without health insurance. This week, we take it to another level.

In less than 36 hours, President Bush will use his State of the Union speech to stampede the country into a false sense of crisis on Social Security, while ignoring the real and immediate crisis of 11 million American children waking up this morning without health insurance.

But, we won't accept the President's refusal to act as the final word on meeting the needs of our children. Not a chance. Last week, our Senate introduction of the Kids First Act of 2005 added even more energy to our drive for citizen co-sponsors for this vital legislation. Nearly 500,000 people have now signed on to our efforts.

When I laid out our plans in a national speech to Families USA last week, it stood in sharp contrast to the President's "no real answer" photo op on health care the same day in Ohio. And, this past Sunday, I continued carrying our message about covering every child to the national media on Meet the Press.

Here's what's next:

This week, I'm calling on the johnkerry.com community to "Give Voice to Our Values" by providing vocal support for our effort to provide every child in America with health care coverage. I need you to be a part of this effort.

Make Your Personal Call Right Now.

Call our "Give Voice to Your Values" project at 1-866-876-4490. At this toll-free number, you can record a message describing, in your own words, why it is so critical for America to Put Kids First.

If you have a personal story about a child living without health insurance, I hope you'll see it in your heart to share it. But, whatever your individual circumstance, it is essential that Americans from all walks of life give vocal support to our Put Kids First initiative.

1. I called and shared my story.
We're without health care as I am unemployed.

I left a pretty long & emotional message.

5. I'm self employed- no health insurance....
I'm really sick right now, I guess it's the flu.
I used to qualify for health insurance in WA, but when I earned a little too much one year, I had to drop out, and now they've changed the system, blah, blah.
Good luck with your interview!

6. Oh, that sucks!
I so understand. My little one, who is 3, is sick right now and we are just praying that he doesn't get worse.

Thanks for the good luck wish. I'm hoping that it goes well. :)

7. I'll pray for your baby too!
My 'baby' is 21 now, and luckily when he was born a premie, we were covered under the Australian Medi-care system, a basic health care program for everyone.
I do hope John Kerry can win this initiative!

9. I hope he can, too
It was nice hearing his voice on the phone. I was already emotional when I called but hearing his voice made it even that much more sad. :(

Thanks for the prayers. The Little Dude has respiratory problems and has been hospitalized before. He doesn't fight off colds quickly like his sister. His immune system isn't the best so he just stays sick for days. He's back on his breathing treatments now. I get scared, needless to say.

I hope Kerry gets this initiative passed. There are so many kids out there with no coverage.

11. Thanks, actually I have been using an old bottle of "Wood Lock"
medicated balm to ease my earaches!
Everything else on the bottle is in Chinese, have you heard of it?

13. Have not. Check online to see about it.
Herbs are great.

And a few well placed needles, too.

See if there is a school for Chinese Medicine near you. They'll probably have a cheap or even free clinic.

19. I see
This is a very good for the Clark format.

Kerry is just a loser. I did not want it this way. It just is what it is.

My boy, he is in the 2nd division. Many of our kids at Clark04 are in the service, Many of our fathers (and Mothers) were in the service. And we KNOW many of our kids will get drafted in the services under this pretender president. And we are so tired of getting our butts kicked. Especially by this "make believe" president.

He is not my president, not my brothers president and certainly not my parents president.

Just another a**hole.

Here's the question, it is quite simple. And I do not for the life of me understand the Dems reluctance to ask.
"HOW COME NO ONE GOES OVER THE PERIMITER" And I mean on a base at ANY city there.

I'll tell you, cause three minutes over the line means your DEAD.

WOW---some democracy, ain't it.

Bush will go down in the end----he is just another liar, thats all.

And liars get caught, that is the way we were brought up. The way you were brought up, I trust.

Just a matter of time.

And Karma is such a bitch.

Joe

20. I also liked Clark, he just came in too late!
To me he has the quiet dignity every president ought to have, but I have heard nothing at all from him since the 'hellection'.
What is he doing, perhaps you could post something about it.
As for John Kerry, I'm glad he's trying to fulfill some of the promises he made as the candidate.
You have to be for his 'health initiative' regardless whether you think Kerry's a loser or not!

27. Why you say that---You know him??
Listen guy,

I can honestly tell you, for a fact, of the nine people in my family---seven have combat time WWII to Viet Nam.

I have read Clark, carefully, Waging to Modern War.

And I think People should read them. Our "kids" are fighting these wars, all of our kids. And I can assure you, many other kids will also before this is over, probably yours. And soon.

So, if you want to cut the crap---

I'd appreciate it. So much at stake----so much.

And I am happy to give a hand here.

Joe

28. I am not a guy and I don't have kids
I am just saying that the General would not appreciate you personally attacking our 2004 nominee. I like Clark too, but I don't like to personally attack people just cause they didn't win. Sure Kerry wasn't perfect, and mistakes (like the IWR vote) were made, you should thank him for sacrificing family time and everything else just to make our country better. I am just telling it like it is.

29. Okay,
My Father won three distinguished flying crosses.

And I'll tell you something. It would have been a cold day in hell before you'd hear him talking about it.

That doesn't mean Kerry wasn't a really good guy, I think he was---but damn, he shouldn't have been shooting off like that.

So, that the GI's in the field may have questions about him, well, that is understandable. And the reupgs toasted him on it.

Look, Kerry won the silver star, clearly, best of the best----why did he give ANY opening, why????

A Lot of people WILL die for the answer to this question.

WHY DID YOU DO THIS KERRY???

I don't give Bush any quarter---he lost and will be called on it.

Many, too many young kids will die in the meantime.

Bush is of course tha ultimate blame. But the fact of the matter is, Kerry should NEVER have given any quarter.

Why?? I reallly liked the Kerry in 1971---where did he go??

Joe

16. Yes, I too got very emotional hearing JKs voice.
I also mentioned that the current plans to take away the tax incentive businesses have to provide their employees health care benefits would maginify the problem enormously.

And, a note to all of you with sick kiddies. Please, consider using homeopathics. They have worked like a charm for me over the years. My boys are now 12 and 8, and neither has ever received an antibiotic or any other med. in all these yrs.

My great, great grandfather was the "father" of homeopathy in America and I worked in clinical medicine for many yrs- For a very long time I pooh, poohed homeopathy! However, once I tried it I was hooked!!

18. This is a brilliant move by Kerry
If the Republicans vote it out, they look like complete assholes (as if they don't already) who don't want kids to have healthcare. If they pass the bill, then kids have healthcare! All thanks to ShadowPresident Kerry!

21. yes, he knows what he's doing alright!
And that's why I wish people wouldn't blame him so for his actions to do with the election... he knows much more than we do about what can and can't be done legally. The man DOES know what he's doing, better than any of us... have a little faith! He's still workin' for us and doing great things... and I'm sure he will be fighting to change our election process forever too!

Remember what Kerry said throughout his campaign? "I've got a plan..." The guy had a plan for everything. He's got one now. This health initiative proves it.
