Statisticians refute explanation of 2004 US exit poll discrepancies

Was election result, rather than exit poll data, flawed?

US statisticians from the investigative research body USCountVotes have rejected an explanation of exit poll discrepancies in the 2004 US presidential election results.
The USCountVotes team said the report drawn up by pollsters Edison Media Research and Mitofsky International to explain the differences between the exit poll data and the election results failed to explore the possibility that election results were flawed. Instead the Edison/Mitofsky report focused on why the exit polls might have been in error.
In an interview with Research, Bruce O'Dell, USCountVotes' vice president, said: “There was no substantiation of theories presented in the Edison/Mitofsky report on why exit polls over-represented John Kerry. We believe that the election results are worthy of further investigation and hope to perform a detailed statistical analysis at precinct-level to highlight inaccuracies.”
Renowned US pollster Warren Mitofsky told Research: “The Edison/Mitofsky report was not investigating election fraud. We were looking at how to guarantee the accuracy of exit poll data.”
O’Dell said USCountVotes is seeking donations from the public and philanthropic organisations to fund its research.

8. That is

an illusion. They just bring what´s in the media in US - for example the Boxer story...

It was never different in the last three months.

2. Good. This is the type of outfit we need to keep on top of
the obviously hacked election.

The whore press will continue to parade payola pundits, of course, nothing to see here, just move along...

3. Links to the original statisticians' report here. It's a must-read.
I've linked to the the report and the major author's web page in this post:

All concerned citizens should read the statisticians' report. It's not all that long and it is dynamite.

This is serious. And, as I mentioned in that post, we need to match up the statistical results with the accumulating physical evidence of fraud. The case is building.

6. I never thought of this..
but maybe it will be the foreign press that comes to our rescue.
What a sad, disgusting shame our US media has become.
Biased and/or scared into not reporting the truth.

7. I agree
but perhaps that will be what wakes up America that they are being lied to when the truth finally leaks out internationally. There is no way it won't leak back to us via internet, conversations with loved ones and friends abroad, etc.

11. I've been thinking about this recently
In some other countries, their mainstream media may be open to us. We should all be hitting them with email and faxes.

12. totally agree!
Our media is bought and paid for. Theirs may be as well, but couldn't possibly be to the extent ours is. Hit the foreign press with this. You may hear "They don't care about the US" but that is complete BS. EVERYONE cares about the US - educate, educate, educate and do not underestimate your own brilliance. If you think of something that you assume everyone has thought of, they may not have. Share, share, share.

And thanks. :)

explain the difference in Exit Polls and official results; I've done my own study and matchups with the documentation of widespread vote machine fraud, dirty tricks, manipulation of absentees and provisionals-especially in minority precincts, etc.

15. Don't forget North Carolina
where the exit polls in the counties that did MANUAL counts (there were 3) were within 0.01% accuacy while the DRE voting was off by a much larger percentage (don't have the numbers handy) and the optiscan voting was even further off.

Interesting - look it up on BBV!
