"Pat on the back" time!
Edited on Thu Jan-13-05 11:56 PM by RaulVB
Are you guys happy now?

The more we insist in not losing sight of the issues, the more we get "visitors" telling us to "move on"...

We are really onto something here and we will not let go this time.

We owe that to President Gore and President Kerry.

WE won 4 elections in a row guys!

Never forget that!

1. If there's a phrase I hate,
anywhere, anytime, in any part of my life, it's "Let it go."

That's a variation on "move on."

Fuck them. I'm never letting go.

16. I have been using it against republicans!
anytime they mention Clinton "let it go"

anytime they say blah blah America is cheap "let it go"

anytime they say the Muslims hate America cause of 9/11 "LET IT GO"

it really hurts - projection its their tool. we must learn to use it. i love getting them at their own game.

and Washington state "let it go"

wonderful phrase i thing dont you!

5. I'm blown away by the effort expended by the tag teams...

They aren't that great. It takes about 10 minutes to work through their citations which NEVER say what they claim but I gotta give them points for energy.

9. Yes the heat does seem to have been stepped up lately
A question I asked earlier: Why the zeal to "debunk" if we're just silly, delusional conspiracy theorists?

They can't have it both ways; either we're harmless and defeated or we're threatening to their equilibrium because we're closing in on the truth.

What are they afraid of?

It's about demanding accountability at every level. And, it's not party specific, as we have seen.

Someone who has integrity shines like a beacon, no matter which side they are on.

"We owe that to President Gore and President Kerry."
"WE won 4 elections in a row guys!"
"Never forget that!"

Yup.

And we didn't just elect Kerry, we saw one of the most amazing democracy movements that world has seen born in the U.S. of A.!

I've been around a lo-o-o-o-o-ong time. I've never seen anything like it, not even in the '60s. This movement is broad and deep--and although it took a bad blow on 11/2 (very, very deliberately inflicted)--it is recovering, and it WILL win in the end.

Really good people...I just regret that I wasn't more vocal on 2000.

President Gore needed more support and a vocal movement behind him.

20. You do understand that these pesky little guests
are here because they're at the
'THEN THEY FIGHT YOU' stage.

The most hysterical aspect of their appearance here on DU is that they really do believe in their little heartless hearts is that we accept them as "Dems with an alternate position (exit polls, blah, blah)".

Their posts just reconfirm my beliefs that they are so FUCKING ignorant, they are beyond educating.

Heya Karenca
'Their posts just reconfirm my beliefs that they are so F*CKING ignorant'

Don't lose sight of the fact that the ignorant ones have been deceived, I pity them, not hate them.
It is the 'Shills' that deserve your hate. They KNOW what they are doing, and it is certainly beyond 'un-American'.

24. Propaganda tactics
You got that right!

"We belong to this little alternative group..." is actually one proposition.

The main one IS TO MAKE YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE the "alternative group".

26. Right on, Raul!
Sounds like they hate us keeping on about the statistics, now.

I wonder how the statistical probability underlying DNA profiling compares with the higher figures in our statistics: TruthIsAll, Mr Freeman, the Berkeley academics et al.

Hee hee! I've just seen you started a thread on the self-same theme. You'd think they'd realise how transparent they are, wouldn't you. Well, no... perhaps not. When mendacity is second nature, it must be easy to get confused.

36. Indeed, it has; and it gives me so much joy to use the ....
...snooze and alert featurs provided by DU. Don't waste a sec 'flaming' them; just alert-it and snooze-it.

Then, when the next hot item gets announced, like Conyers et al., pushing for a special prosecutor, as the thread grows, you'll note all the 'ignored' items (drive by and tag team patterns) as the threaded discussion unfolds.

Peace.

37. I was curious...
..about whether there is a renewed interest in exit polls in the right-wing blogs, etc. Boy, is there...

The twin issues seem to be the Electoral vote challenge AND the release of the scoop data on later exit poll numbers. The result is a significant shift (IMO) from attacking the left-wing blogs, etc. to attacking Mitofsky and the validity and methodology of the NEP polls in particular (ring a bell?). In the process, Kaus and Blumenthal suddenly seem to have been embraced by the right.

The following is from Knight of the Mind (and linked to Free Republic and many other sites). The quote is from Kaus and the attack is on NEP.

http://orsa.blogspot.com/2005/01/exit-left-2004-exit-poll-failure.html

"This slipshod methodology leads to doubts concerning the ultimate validity of the 2004 election. The academic papers concerning the supposed miscounting of the votes in 2004 are already amounting to mathematical propaganda. The sentence below is undoubtably true:

'To carry our analysis further, we can employ a normal distribution curve (see
Figure 1) to determine—again assuming proper poll methodology, no discriminatory voter
suppression 24, and an accurate and honest popular vote count—that the probability that
Kerry would have received his reported popular vote total of 48.1%, or less is one in 959,000—a virtual statistical impossibility.'

If you doubt me, run the numbers on SAS or SPSS. These guys appear to be talking the talk only after they've walked the walk. The numbers run; just like they tell you. Just looking at those numbers would make the theoretical 50/50 undecided voter mad as all get-out that Bush got all those electoral votes. This is the rather obvious intent the authors had in mind before they ever put finger to keyboard.

Here's where they perhaps accidently mislead. They assume a priori that the exit polls are gospel. They totally ignore the evidence indicting the exit polls and focus instead on the prior resumes of the lead data managers. It's only when you overwhelmingly assume proper poll methodology that the result of the current election falls into doubt.

This is why the exit polling messup is more than just a minor problem. The exit poll results become an historical document that can be innacurately or dishonestly interpreted the same way Michael Bellesiles incorrectly read historical documents to present false history when writing The Arming Of America."
