Another effort we need to organize: informing more people about our media
Edited on Fri Jan-07-05 11:54 PM by Faye
I know there is a 'media' forum, but this is also directed to ask for help from the people who post in this forum. We of all people have seen only more evidence from the election fraud investigations just how biased, FAKE, and manipulative our mainstream media is. If we can't change the way the reporters report the news, the least we can do is try to inform people who only get their news from TV and newspapers that there are other sources out there to get their information. We need to think of 'framing' it so that people understand what they are being told is DISTORTED truths. We need to promote, somehow - maybe through emails and regular mail - flyers, etc. - the HELL out of the independent media sources on the internet, especially. Sites like rawstory/bluelemur, truthout, democracy now, etc. There needs to be a 'movement', and I give that a double meaning - a movement to inform the public that there are other reliable sources for news, and literally MOVING from the mainstream media bullshit to REAL news. We can't convince every single person to consider this, but I'm sure we can have a great effect and a lot of people will realize what is going on and decide to STOP watching TV news so much. The majority of the people in this country are walking zombies, silent and passive, apathetic, and gullible. The only way any kind of 'revolution' is going to start is to WAKE PEOPLE UP. Election Fraud is one of the wake up calls, but media control is another that is just as important.

I have a few ideas running around in my head, I'd like some feedback to see if there is anyone who would like share their ideas on how to do something like this. It needs to be a group effort.

2. I want to publish a magazine for those who don't have the Internet.
If I could just get some big financial backers, I know I could make this work. I've converted quite a few Republicans, just by talking one-on-one.

REAL AMERICAN VALUES

How's that for a title?

Throw in enough recipes and other mundane stuff to get those red state homemakers to buy it, but include some issue-oriented pieces targeting middle America. What's happening to Social Security, pollution of our waters, etc.

I'm a journalist with thousands of published clips in national and local publications, plus I've been an editor for a literary magazine and a trade journal. C'mon, any lurking billionaires. Let's talk!

6. Get 'em on to the idea of election reform.
Q. How could anyone who claims to work for a democratic government not wat to ensure that all the votes are counted?

A. Because the votes that aren't counted are for the other guy.

Send them here:

Be sure to tell them that the people who publish this are the lawyers for Cobb on the recount.

We need to flood the Judiciary Repuglicans with e-mails, letters, and phone calls in order to get them to understand how important this is. They MUST hold FULL investigations with subpeona powers.

The idiots have megaphones, but we have numbers!

The Senate Democrats were cowed, this time by their constituents, into doing what they should have done in 2000. We can't stop now. The Fight has only begun!
