CONYERS INTRODUCES CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT TO PERMIT
FOREIGN BORN CITIZENS TO SEEK THE PRESIDENCY

Isn't the timing kind of weird on this? I thought he would have been completely occupied with getting ready for today, and getting the doc ready that he sent out Jan. 4 to all the senators?

1. He's got to be considering Jennifer Grantholm
Michigan's governor (Canadian-born).

11. Is she really cool? I'm not sure
if I'm thinking of the same person.
Was she on Bill Maher once?

3. More like paving the way run for Arnold to run
because he won't win. The religious right thinks Arnie is the anti-christ and the conservatives think he's a Kennedy.

4. Strangely...
I don't know anyone who even remotely likes Arnold as their governor. Maybe it would be a good thing if he ran, just think of the great dirt they could tear him apart with: Idolizing Nixon, sexual harassment, wife that is related to a "liberal senator from Massachusetts". It would be pretty funny to watch.

5. Nope...Jennifer Granholm
maybe paving the way for HIS governor.

I think if they were to have something like this it shouldn't take affect for 20 years. No one should vote for this because they want Arnold or Jennifer, it should be on the merits of the amendment itself.

Personally, I have mixed feelings - so pass the maple syrup.

Anyway, maybe it's a strategy anyway, like the Christian Coalition would EVER back Arnold - if he ran it could fracture the Repub party.

7. I haven't made up my mind about this yet - I hate the Governator, but I'd
hate worse to oppose this idea solely for that reason.

Need to learn/think more about it.

that anyone who is president has a good understanding of American history from personal experience. Not that being born here guarantees anything; Bush sure has no concept of history or he wouldn't have invaded Iraq.

12. Clearly there are problems with Conyers legislative record.

One group wanted to give him an award last month but couldn't because of his vote for the Intelligence Reform Act, a really bad bill he voted for without reading. He needs to be more conscious of the ramifications of his actions. Though he did good today.
