and not hearing it on tv. so when someone says no fraud. really i read and look really really hard to if someone on tv said it (remember i am not watching tv) or if this was coming from the poster. hence my question, who says

It does bother me when our side, particularly lawmakers apologize for taking action.

I think they are balancing political and constituent concerns against doing the right thing and trying to hedge their bets. They know in their next election their opponent will use every sound bite to say "so and so wanted to cancel the election and keep Our Great Leader from becoming president!!!"

My opinion is that if you are a lawmaker, you have to lead on points of law and re-election be damned. If you are on the right side and you do it right, your constituency will support you, and if they don't then you shouldn't be their leader anyway. Kind of Darwinian, but it would keep lawmakers from making myopic statements like "there was no fraud, BUT . . ."
