Any opinions on Sen. Feingold ?
and him standing up on the 6th ?
I just read this editorial he seems like a fighter.

Feingold is a maverick. But he is a winning maverick. He was re-elected this fall by a wide margin, easily outdistancing the showing of the party's presidential ticket in Wisconsin. And the Wisconsin senator did so without trimming his sails; he spoke bluntly about the war in Iraq, his opposition to corporate free-trade deals and, of course, his solo vote against the USA Patriot Act.

Feingold has much to teach the Democratic Party about standing up to big money, rejecting false bipartisanship, and asserting a progressive vision on issues such as health care reform. As a whip, he is better positioned than ever before to do that.

1. I loved that he voted against the Patriot Act because he READ it
before the vote. 1 out of 100 senators to actually read this thing and worry that it gave up too much... we need more leaders with this kind of gutsiness.

2. he is independent, i'll give him that
he also was THE deciding vote on the Ashcroft nomination (he felt deference to the president was the way to go, and felt that Ashcroft "deserved a chance".

I seem to recall, but can't put my finger on it, that he strayed from "the party line" about the Clinton Impeachment.

Still, my belief is that if they don't ALL stand up, no one of them will. And i gotta say, I suspect the latter.

go ahead. disappoint me.
