Give yourself some time over the next couple of days to do laundry, clean up, have a little downtime.
Then start hating what has happened, and use your anger as fuel to start local activism.
Use your anger to keep you going as you work on local initiatives, as you brave the elections office in your county to talk to them, as you write your LTTEs, as you plan your strategic efforts, as you band together with local friends and activists, as you plan rallies, as you found left-leaning clubs, as you freewayblog, as you plan nonviolent protests, as you write songs and pen plays and attend boring committee meetings and plan fundraisers.
Hate longterm: Take some time off from your hate to take care of your life, do yoga, eat right, hang out with friends... for a day or two.
Then SHARPEN YOUR HATE AGAIN... host a liberal houseparty and watch some progressive DVDs about Shrub.
Your hate will be a burning feeling in your stomach. Your hate will be the thing that gets you up off your couch. Your hate will be a best friend that will get you energized and moving and thinking and reading and taking this country back from the grassroots, from the bottom up.
Watch Network: "We're MAD AS HELL AND WE'RE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!"
Use your hate. Make it your tool. And above all, when you are ready, TAKE ACTION.
