Ugh, John Roberts on CBS just used the word "mandate"
Saying that Bush sees this election as a clear mandate of the people and will aggressively pursue his agenda.

Not that I didn't expect this, but so much for coming together to unite the country.

1. Bush ruled us like a king
When he lost the popular vote.

I don't see anything changing this time around.

3. 3 points is not a "clear mandate".
It's a mandate, but the Country is still divided.

6. Exactly
Bush has no intention of working with Kerry, or anybody else. And yes, like it or not, he does have a mandate. It's come straight from above, dontcha know? If you doubt me, ask the first fundamentalist Christian you meet. They'll tell you that this was ordained to happen.

9. Rush Limpballs has a "take no prisoners" attitude
I just heard him say, "Reach out to Democrats? Why? Bush tried that already and look what happened!"

This is going to be a scorched-earth, Pyhrric victory for the hard right. Expect no quarter, for none will be given. This is going to be their perceived pay-back time.

God help us all.

11. Let's not shoot the messenger
If Roberts said "Bush has a mandate" he would be editorializing. That would be wrong.

However, if he says that Bush sees this as a mandate, he is reporting what Bush is syaing. That is okay.

Bush is wrong.
