Let them have everything...don't fight.
Seriously...fighting will only slow them down...It won't stop them. I think the sooner things collapse, the sooner we can start to pick up the pieces. Let the republicans pass all of their horrible legislation and watch the economy fall apart. They will be forced to take complete blame for it in 2006, and America will realize the mistake they have made and give Bush a mirror image of the 1994 congressional elections.

1. I'm kinda hoping for this scenario to unfold. Sounds mean, but more
people need to hurt more deeply for them to realize the huge mistake this second term is. Sad, but I think that's the way it will have to go.

3. Me too
After crying, and crying some more, I sat back and thought just how will I be affected by another four years of FuckFace.

Except for the insurance thing, not too much.

Let it rain.

Our childeren are to fallable to be given up on. We have to fight, we have to be heard and we have to create and stand by our core values so people will recognize us when the right collapses.

7. IMO - let them(reThugs) have at it all they want.
Fighting them now is worthless. Let us concentrate instead rebuilding the party and the anciliary support that is required to be more effective in the next 4 years.

8. That isn't easy to do.
A huge number of people are emotionally invested in the outcome of an election like never before. We also are aware of what is going to happen. It is human nature to want to try to stop the disaster we know is on the horizon.

I'm not finished crying yet; and I refuse to let America slit its own throat.

Why should we go down with the idiots on the ship? I will try to change course, but if I see the iceberg; I'm bailing.

better to go through a brief period of hell resulting in the collapse of the republican party...then we can rebuild without any real opposition.

11. I think that's exactly right.
When we fight back they label us "obstructionists". I say don't give the RW media whores anything to complain about. Just sit back, shut up and enjoy the ride to the poor house. Take what little satisfaction you can from knowing that you won't be alone. You'll be going there with all the poor and middle class morons that voted for Bush and the GOP. The faster we get there the faster we get them out of power and off our airwaves. Let the proverbial shit hit the proverbial fan.

12. My thoughts exactly
As America crumbles over the next four years, they can't blame Clinton, they can't blame Kerry, they can't blame a liberal media, they can't blame anyone but Dymbya.

Be careful what you ask for, I say. The ball is solidly in their court. They will drop it. Dems will not be responsible.

15. Be careful, folks. Remember, things can still get a lot worse.
Things aren't very good right now, but there's an almost infinite amount of room at the bottom.

If you think it's safe to lose health insurance, wait until you end up with a $100K medical bill from an accident, or illness.

Or, wait until you are forced to take care of your parents in your own home, when they come down with Alzheimers.

We need to keep fighting, if only to keep our fingers in the dike. The ocean is vast.

29. So what
YOU'RE too comfortable to give up what you've got, is that it? I can't even go to a damned doctor, I would already have to take care of a sick parent, so what the hell would I be giving up? Nothing. That's the problem, people are willing to fight for "principle" to a point, and the point is when they actually have to give up creature comforts. You don't really want to risk something you actually have to make things better for others. That's the story of America, people give to make themselves feel morally superior, not because they really give a shit.

32. what are you talking about?
So, if I lose my health insurance and end up living in a cardboard box, that's gonna help YOU?

I want to see universal health care, and low unemployment, among other things. We stop fighting, we're all going to end up in Hoovervilles, or worse.

Things could get a lot worse. If you doubt that, by all means we can quit fighting and find out the hard way.

18. yes, I'm with you. let them hang themselves with their own rope
... I keep wanting to scream to the triumphant morons: "you're not going to like it!! you're not going to like the way it becomes one little bit!" but they didn't believe me before so why should they believe me now? I will be quiet, do my job, blend in, watch for ways to subtly sabotage them, keep my own "living underground" skills sharpened, live light, and watch them finally realize the horror they have wrought. I hope they suffer horribly with it.

My one REALLY BIG concern are judges. 3-4 supreme court appointments could change the court for 30 years.

30. I have nothing to lose but kids and life
I am set up to survive economic collapse. I don't live in a way most of you would find "comfortable." But I can survive. Forget health care, honey.

When you give up the baubles ( let's have a home-made. or Dem- made Christmas?) and the "image" of success, they can't bring you to your knees so easily.

When these wonderful people in the south & west are out of work & there is no assistance for them, when the corporate boss shuts them down because they can't unionize, when their sons & daughters are dying from IED's and car bomb attacks in some furrin land ...

Well, that's too fucking bad. You got the war you wanted. You got the feudal system you wanted. Good luck to you! Not my problem. Now get the fuck away. You don't look or sound like me!

(I know, we're Democrats & we're not supposed to be that way.)

On edit: Let's help them along with an economic embargo of their fattest, most obnoxious industries. I for one will be damned if I buy another car or any other durable good.

I used to be in a Fundy church. The arrogant, self-righteious ones always implode. They eventually turn on one another and devour each other, and the corrupt leadership always gets exposed.

You'll be hearing weeping and knashing of teeth from the obnoxious Fundies before this is over. And they will have brought it on themselves.

21. The joys of being younger
I felt the same way during Reagan. But you know what, its only gotten worse. This began with Goldwater and fiscal conservatism and has grown into a movement that just pines for a theocracy. Did you hear the exit polls that asked Republicans their main concerns? Number ONE was moral leadership; number TWO was terrorism. And we all know that moral is spelled Christian don't we? Does anyone even remember that this government was formed for religious tolerance?

The problem is that its gone too far - it was a bunch of right wing crazies for a long time - but this election should prove that they are now a majority. too frightening for words.

This feels exactly like 1984 & look how aggressive Ronnie got in his second term. Like a lame duck from day one, he got into the worst shit of Iran Contra & terra terra terra.

Watch out Iran, Syria, Cuba ...

For us at home, better watch our behinds & guard every civil liberty. The gauntlet has been thrown down.

28. Help it on its way
Propose all kinds of religious and economic destructive legislation. I've posted it before, no minimum wage, no medicaid, mandatory prayer in school, end affirmative action, gay rights, abortion, their entire agenda. Shove it right down their stupid pin-headed little throats. Make them face what it is they say they're for and reject it THEMSELVES.

35. I would happily let all those smug, SUV-driving, trophy-house-owning,
child-spoilin, "praise music" singing security moms and office park dads who voted for Bush be reduced to poverty--it would be a most educational experience for them.

However, I feel bad about all the people, many of whom either voted Dem or have lost so much faith in the system that they didn't vote at all, who will suffer and even die because of the 2nd Bush Jr. administration.

37. All who read this
should read "Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand. You may not agree with all her philosophies, but the characters are a group of people with intellect and ability who got tired of carrying the leeches and parasites who talked a good game but never actually got anything done. Sound familiar?

If nothing else, reading it will get you through the next four years. Might even give you some ideas of actions you can take.
