The saddest thing about this loss...
Edited on Wed Nov-03-04 02:31 PM by bkcc
is that I realized, after a year of fighting and trying to send Dubya home to Crawford, that the majority of America doesn't see him as a bad president.

People in the heartland are happy with the last four years.

They showed up and stood in line to vote for the idiot king.

And, finally, they showed me that we liberals are in the minority.

I didn't want to believe that, but it appears to be true. Just look at the difference in the popular vote.

At this point, it's their country. We just live here.

we are in the minority, yes, probably 49% to 51%.

I personally am not going to "work with", "heal", or do anything with the other half.

So it's gonna be a bumpy ride for *.

This isn't the result of stupidity. Most people knew exactly who -- and what -- they were voting for.

The truth is that some 50% of the adults in this country have chosen to follow a demagogue or stand by and let him continue in power. So this is about greed, indifference, insularity, racism, bigotry, hatred.

Fear is for those of us who don't salute the imperial nation. We are traitors to the new regime, and we will be dealt with in good time.

8. That about covers it for me, too
This was a referendum on the American people, and the result is that the world will now have just cause to hate Americans, not just Bush.

I now know what we are made of -- and it's not a pretty sight.
