check it out -- Yang Executive Claims Campaign Ad False
maybe a little levity is warranted. Poor Li-Woan Yang, can't imagine why anyone would pick on her (she's the CEO of Yang Enterprises)

http://www.wesh.com/news/1708579/detail.html

<snip>

"Mr. Feeney was a registered lobbyist. He assisted Yang in obtaining up to an $8 million contract with the Florida Department of Transportation," Jacobs said

"What the ad is trying to imply, that Mr. Feeney helped us, which is 100 percent incorrect. It is a big lie," Yang said.

<snip>

"The bad news is that's not going to stop Jacobs from telling fibs. We've been completely exonerated," Feeney said.

hahahahahahahahahaha, we need to stop all this fibbing

6. I love it where Feeney says he's been exonerated by
a 'state ethics investigation'. Would that be Floriduh? and isn't FL and ethics kind of an oxymoron?

3. The ole "51%"
Edited on Tue Dec-07-04 12:26 AM by quiet.american
Given everything I've read this evening on the subject, when I came across the magic number of 51% in the article, I had to lol -- the fix is in:

"The poll shows that Republican State House Speaker Tom Feeney would get the vote of 51 percent of those asked, while Democrat Harry Jacobs would get 32 percent; 17 percent remain undecided."

('Course, it's not really funny.)

13. They ARE said to be under FBI investigation...
...as reported in the Affidavit and I can confirm an Email from a (not working from notes here) a member of the Terrorism Task Force in Florida who said on Nov. 22, 2004 that Yang was currently under and FBI investigation.

Have seen that Email. Yes, the sender could have been a fraud somehow. But it's easy to check. Do it!

The sender of the Email (to Curtis) was Tom Yowell.

11. The whistleblower looks like Curtis.
Curtis said he resigned from YEI. Then he went to work with DOT and was a whistleblower on YEI having illegal contracts with DOT involving over billing and defrauding the state. Curtis was fired from DOT.

Here is Curtis's excerpt while at DOT:
"While there, I discovered some other illegal activities of YEI, who had contracts with FDOT involving over-billing and defrauding of the state of Florida regarding contracts I had worked on at YEI".

Here's the excerpt about the ad:
"Jacobs' advertisement also claims Feeney may have used his influence to have a whistleblower fired. The whistleblower claimed Yang was over billing the state on that $8 million contract. Yang said she never cheated the state, nor asked Feeney to get anyone fired".
