Could it be more depressing?
I am assuming we will lose Ohio as I just don't think that margin can be overcome by provisional ballots. And thus we will lose the Presidency.

Aside from August Kerry ran a good campaign. Not perfect, but no one is perfect. We can't count on perfect. Kerry won three debates decisively. He won every state Gore won (if he gets Iowa and Wisconsin) and flipped a red state (New Hampshire). We can't blame Nader, Kerry, or anyone but the people (the bastards). This is combined with disasterous results in the Senate especially in the South. In Kentucky we couldn't beat a psychopath (a literal one). In North Carolina, a known statewide candidate, who outspent his opponent, lost to a representative from the boonies. In South Carolina, a statewide elected conservative Democrat lost to a man who favors a national sales tax and free trade. In Louisiana, we can't even force a run off. I can't speak to Georgia or Louisiana but the rest of the races we fielded good candidates. On paper we should have won a few of these. The fact we didn't, is deeply troubling.

As sad as it is, we have to face facts. We can't win in the South at all. We need to have a midwestern or western strategy. Even then it will be hard to win but we can't out hate the Republicans. Not only is it bad public policy, it is stupid politics. We may have to face an even sadder fact. We really may be out of touch with a majority of our fellow citizens on social issues. And that those issues may matter more to them than economics or security. I said after Bush gave his state of the Union address, that I didn't think I was an American anymore. That was confirmed last night. Clearly I am not a real American. It is a bitter pill to swallow. The people have spoken and they are truely bastards.

10. If they are even allowed to continue broadcasting
Not sarcastic. Serious. Those who continue to flaunt their disrespect for Dear Leader will be summarily yanked off the air and probably imprisoned.

3. It's not the hate; it's the stupidity
This country worships anti-intellectualism so half the people pick someone just like them, below average.

4. The worst news....

America has taken a huge swing to the right. The Christian Evangelicals, the homo-phobes, the Islamphobes, they have the power to elect a President. I felt ill this morning when I turned on the TV. Isn't good supposed to truimph???

I can truly see how people like Hitler rose to power. George W Bush is the worst President in American history and he was just re-elected...criminal.

What do the Democrats have do to appeal to this sort of mindset -Stop talking about health-care, unjust wars, lose their moral compass???

I love America & I am truly scared for your country. Bush is going to be even more arrogant this time out with the popular vote in his back pocket.

5. Life is not worth living
I can't believe Bushitler and the rethuglicans have stolen another election. Those goddam fascist pieces of shit.

I'm reading all about how Bush collaborated with Diebold and the Pollsters to rig the election in Ohio and Florida. We all know Diebold donates heavily to the rethuglicans but I bet the pollsters also in the pockets of the rethuglican party (or is it the other way around?). For those who aren't aware the exit polls initially projected a Kerry win then suddenly the exit poll results starting changing. Was it Orwell who said, "He who controls the past controls the future"? What a disgrace. I can't believe our media is going along with this bullshit. They aren't even questioning the fascists. I wonder if Bush and his storm troopers are in the newsrooms threatening them to keep quite. I remember in 1984 the protaganist had a bit of information at his disposal that proved the Party was rewriting history. This is our piece of information! We can't let this go!!

6. Can't we all understand how the Civil War happened? We look
back and think, "What was wrong with those people?" But I've learned that there are some people I considered friends that I'm too uncomfortable to even be around. I'm afraid of being wounded by almost everyone.

7. It rained all day, lines were long, so people were discouraged & left
That was the Cleveland 6:00 news. It was one of those November days when the less-motivated would not want to venture out, much less wait long periods in the rain. At midnight, there were voters still waiting at the polls in Cuyahoga County. At 2 am, voters were still in line in Knox county. What happened? It was not as if turnout was ten times higher yesterday. Our polling system should be designed to have enough throughput to walk the whole damn precinct through in an hour or two. They should not hold people up for six hours.

No, I don't think it could be more depressing. I am reminded that I live in a totally different world than most Americans.

14. DU report said that SOS Blackwell "reduced" the prov ballot count to 138k
It was 170,000 several hours ago. Now the provisional ballot sum is <= the margin. Coincidence? Maybe. Am I reading too much DU?? Yes.
