Threat of rationing for chronically ill.
Today's Sydney Morning Herald has an article about an AMA warning
that the Government is planning funding cuts to chronically ill
patients.

Why am I not surprised by this? Of course Abbott denies it, but
that means nothing. I sometimes think that Howard is bent on
eliminating everything that was put in place by Labor over the
years, for no other reason than they are Labor policies.

We used to have one of the best health-care systems in the world,
and our great teaching hospitals were held up as a benchmark for
other countries to aim for. Now we have private hospitals making
a fortune from cosmetic surgery, while those who can't afford
private insurance even have to wait for cancer treatments.

I don't understand a government that simply doesn't care whether
people can afford medical help or not, and I don't understand the
people who vote for them.

There really is something rotten at the core of this government.
