Early swing to Labor.
Edited on Sat Nov-24-07 03:07 AM by Matilda
Way too early to start counting chickens, but the earliest results from
the eastern states (minus Queensland, where polls have just closed), are
showing a swing to Labor of 4.8%. It needs to be more than that for
Labor to win, but one crucial seat is swinging to Labor, and that's
Eden-Monaro. If Queensland shows a similar swing, that's going to be
very good indeed for Labor.

And Howard is in trouble in Bennelong - too soon, I know - but it's
encouraging.

Edit to add: Greens polling well, particularly noticeable in Bass, which
swung away from Labor and Green in 2004.

1. Looks as if the Libs have definitely lost Lindsay.
Seat of the fake Islamic pamphlet this week - Labor is so far ahead, it's
as good won.

I'm so happy to see that.

2. The ABC and Channel 7 have called Bennelong for Maxine
I almost dare not wish... but perhaps the old goat is finally gone!

Eden-Monaro's gone to the ALP.. there's even talk of the ALP picking up all 16 seats it needs in NSW and VIC alone - let alone QLD....

3. Too soon.
McKew's ahead by a percentage point, and hopefully Green preferences
will go to her, but Antony Green says it can only be said to be in
doubt.

But we can hope ....

But Turnbull's hanging on in Wentworth.
