Canada Rules!
I was on the phone to Dell and the American accounts go to Ottawa. The three people I talked to were great. They were amazingly good at what they did and tons of fun to talk to. Kudos to Canada for raising up such nice people.

RV, a shirt tail Canadian because people from Alaska are always called Canadians by others.

2. You know, RV...

...my husband is from Kingston, ON...and he's worked phone support just the same as you described...some of the best folk on the planet.

Did you know that in the past decade Canada has placed first in the Human Development Index of all nations these years...

* 2000 – Canada
* 1999 – Canada
* 1998 – Canada
* 1997 – Canada
* 1996 – Canada
* 1994 – Canada
* 1992 – Canada
* 1990 – Canada
* 1985 – Canada

And the US has placed first exactly...um...never.

Also feel a bit of a shirt-tail Canadian, having been born and raised in Michigan.

About the Human Development Index:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_Development_Index

The HDI measures the average achievements in a country in three basic dimensions of human development:

* A long and healthy life, as measured by life expectancy at birth.
* Knowledge, as measured by the adult literacy rate (with two-thirds weight) and the combined primary, secondary and tertiary gross enrollment ratio (with one-third weight).
* A decent standard of living, as measured by gross domestic product (GDP) per capita at purchasing power parity (PPP) in USD.

(RV, BTW...have you ever though of putting britches on that little guy in your sig, and sending him to Washington?)

3. I believe Canada finished 3rd, maybe 4th again this year....
in the HDI - fact is, Canada's not perfect, but they've got a great standard of living.

Now, if my immigration application gets through, I'll be able to call myself a Canadian soon.
