(so I can't see the need for another thread ;) )
Have ya heard that the appalling little Glieberman snot has bought his way back into Canadian professional football?
http://www.cbc.ca/story/sports/national/2005/05/31/Sports/gliebermans_renegades050531.htmlDaddy bought him the Ottawa Rough Riders a decade ago. We all know how that went. Oh, there we are, it's going the same way. Daddy buys the biz, sonny boy plays with it ...
The Gliebermans returned to the Canadian Football League on Tuesday, with Bernie taking over as the new majority owner of the Ottawa Renegades and his son, Lonie, taking over as team president.
Ottawa football fans remember the Gliebermans as the eccentric owners of the Rough Riders from 1991 to 1993.
"Eccentric". That's one way to describe the arrogant stupidity.
So now there are the "Renegades", a development I'd managed to miss. (I can gaze at Premier League soccer on TV, but North American football games on TV are just pointlessly and obnoxiously
loud and I refuse to have them in the house.)
"Renegades". What the hell kind of name for a Canadian sports team is that?
