So How Do The Liberals
Engineer a defeat of the budget on Thursday? Or how do the Conservatives manage to let the vote pass?

Seems like only yesterday that the Bloc had the same objective as the Conservatives. I wonder if the Bloc are rethinking things, because now they may want the same things as the Liberals?

All of a sudden it seems like the universe has changed.

2. I Think
That they are solidly behind the concept of keeping this parliament alive. They can achieve quite a bit now with their votes. In addition I think that they believe that people will see that they are there to work for good policy.
So I think they they will support the budget just as they promised.

3. Well, the Bloc really has its own agenda...
...which IMHO is the survival of the Bloc. Duceppe would jump ship on Harper in a nonsecond if it served that end. I wouldn't blame him if he did--although he was a bit of a jackass to ever get on board in the first place.

4. I can see a scenario where the Bloc votes against the main budget
and suports the ammendment

The Bloc's 2nd Directive (after Separation) is to get deals good for Quebec. Is the NDP/Lib deal good for Quebec? It is certainly consistent with many of the Bloc values. hmmmm

Grab the $$$ and bring down the gov't another day. after the Cons regroup.

would not surprise me. then again everyday there is a new surprise.

the politicians are certainly giving us good entertainment value for our tax dollars. a plain old majority gov't will seem downright boring after all this!
