Can someone help me? Where would I go to find out info
about whether I can bring my cats to Canada with me when I move? I know I can but is there a limit as to the number?

Thanks!

1. I don't remember any limits when we crossed with...
three cats. We had to show their inoculation documents, but that was as far as it went. Just make sure that their shots are up to date.

2. Thanks, Mikimouse...
I was looking at the various websites about importing one's pets (cats in particular) and I did not see any limits listed.

It's going to be stressful enough driving up there with the cats (from California) but to find out that I exceeded the limit would be terrible!!

Just got a call from a DVM from Canada who said there are no limits.

Whew!!

Thanks

:bounce:

4. Yep, not to worry...
If you really want to be popular with Customs Canada, bring along a whole whack of vaccination certificates, veterinary statements of good health, etc., etc. They love paper!

A few years ago, my in-laws were coming to visit from the US. MIL was all flipped out because she was bringing in some heirloom silver for my wife to have and was afraid Customs would confiscate it for some obscure reason. This whole thing went on for weeks. I finally heard my wife on the phone saying, "Mom! You're senior citizens! You're American tourists! They WANT you here! You're a WALKING, TALKING CHECKBOOK!"

That said, Canada Customs will crucify you if you try to sneak in guns. Every summer some damn fool gets busted, fined $1000, and turned back at the border for trying to cross with a Glock or some damn thing hidden in his Winnebago. They confiscate the guns, too. There was a huge stink last summer when this happened--the dopey guy actually tried to sue for the return of his firearms and was laughed out of court, probably because the guns were scrap metal by then.
