Vive le Alberta
Vive le Alberta libre!

Well the last time I remember hearing that the leader got a swift shuffle out of the country. Doubt it will happen now.

Coulter's Calgary cry: 'Save the good Canadians'

Controversial U.S. political commentator Ann Coulter said she's determined to "save the good Canadians" in Calgary and regions west from "crazy Liberals," a day after she was met by protests in Ottawa.

Coulter spoke at the University of Calgary on Thursday night, the last stop of a three-city Canadian tour. She is famous for inflammatory comments against Muslims, liberals and gay people.

"It's quite a country you have here," Coulter told Evan Solomon, host of Power & Politics, on CBC News Network on Thursday. "I'm more determined than ever to turn pretty much from Calgary through the west into the 51st state now. We got to save the good Canadians."

1. Oh, please take Alberta, Ann! I like what that would do to our electoral map.

Seriously! It has oil, so can we have New England, New York and the West Coast in exchange?

(Note to lefty Albertans: you're awesome - come join us in the rest of Canada!)

10. Trust Anne to dream of taking oil-rich Alberta ..........................
Sorry, but there are as many decent, fational people there as there are Coulter-thinking types. The whole province doesn't revolve around Calgary. Did she ever answer that long-standing Vietnam question or is she still going to get back to us on that?

2. Ugh. And what is with our allegedly liberal media defending this hack? CTV News had on two rightwing

radio hosts defending her, with no alternate viewpoint offered. CBC News had on a guy from the Calgary Sun praising Alberta for being so tolerant, directly followed by an interview with Ezra Levant! And just a few minutes ago CBC aired a Rex Murphy opinion piece admonishing the University of Ottawa for the treatment of Coulter and praising the reception she was given in Calgary.

Call me crazy but there seems to be a concerted effort to shape Canadians' opinion on the Coulter controversy and to frame the debate in a way that benefits Coulter and her ilk.

3. She thinks we want
to be ******* Americans? Why would we want to do that? We like being Canadian. We don't want to be part of the US. What is that bimbo thinking?

4. WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE?!?
"The polite crowd of 900 listened as Coulter talked about diversity, gays, and bias in the media.

The audience gave a huge cheer when Coulter proposed making Calgary the 51st of the United States."

an American conserative org. The audience that gave the cheer should pack up and leave and follow Annie home, Many in Calgary are big-wig Oil corp. execs from the U.S. Calgary is the headquarters here for many U.S. Oil companies, hence the difference between Ontario and Alberta, Conservatives making it big with the oil who historically, here, hate sharing that wealth with the rest of Canada. Unfortunately, it trickles down to their sons and daughters.
Yuk, I can't stand that woman. Her arrogance is sickening. I'd rather pay to listen to a parakeet screech. Oh, I also resent that security was doubled for her visit, paid for in part by my tax dollars. If you're going to another country, using their resources, at least have the decency to respect the values of that country and not invite the 'need' for extra security with your hate-filled remarks. Self-entitled, arrogant troll.

11. Sorry Anne, but we're 'mostly' all good Canadians.
I'd love to 'save' (wtf does that even mean, really??) the good Americans, but the few hundred million who are, are probably perfectly happy with living in the U.S.
