No more cash for CBC, Heritage Minister says

TORONTO — The beleaguered CBC will not be getting any help from Ottawa to cope with its economic woes.

She said that without Ottawa's help, CBC jobs will be lost across the country.

“The CBC is now going to be faced with some very tough decisions in the next couple of weeks,” Ms. Lareau said.

“I foresee tough decisions that will involve all the regions in this country, plus the network. It's got to be pretty significant, the kind of numbers we're hearing. And what bothers me is that for a relatively small amount of money, jobs in communities across the country are at stake.”
