Ignatieff blasts Harper's 'divisive politics'
OTTAWA — Michael Ignatieff says he is ready to lead a new coalition government unless Stephen Harper's Conservatives scrap their attack ads, drop their partisan edge and present a budget that addresses the needs of Canada's struggling economy.

"He can continue down this path of divisive politics or he can start working constructively with Parliament. The choice is his," the newly anointed Liberal Leader warned on Wednesday.

Mr. Ignatieff said it us up to the Prime Minister to reach out with policies that satisfy the opposition's concerns.

Liberals trying to 'parachute' Ignatieff into PM's role: Tory letter

The Conservatives issued a fundraising letter on Wednesday painting interim Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff as a parachute leader who wasn't rightfully elected by Canadians or his own party members.

"Stéphane Dion has resigned as leader of the Liberal Party of Canada, and by extension, of the Liberal/NDP/Bloc Coalition," Tory campaign chair Doug Finley writes.

"In yet another stunning and unprecedented demonstration of Liberal contempt for our democratic rights, they've decided to appoint a new leader in place."

The fundraising letter then implores party supporters to donate $200 or $100 to "help us spread this message to Canadians."

Sounds to me that we will have a coalition government or an election shortly. Especially if Harper is now filling up the senate.

1. 'Divisive' is Harper's middle name.
I really think he's trying to break up Canada.

2. Divisive politics is easier than governing
He is just hoping that the financial crisis solves itself while he plays games. That's the school of economics that he believes in. I would like to read his Master's thesis, but it seems impossible to obtain a copy.
