Globe and Mail: Canada: The land inflation forgot
OTTAWA — Surging oil prices are making life more expensive everywhere – except, apparently, in Canada.

Countries such as France, Bulgaria and China this week reported the fastest inflation their nations have faced in more than a decade.

With oil touching $110 (U.S.) a barrel, Juergen Stark, a member of the European Central Bank's governing council, yesterday said the ECB is “alarmed” by inflation, calling the rate of price increases a “special concern.”

The situation couldn't be more different in Canada. Policy makers and economists are barely concerned at all.
