CANADIAN PRESS

The governing Liberals lost their seat in a west Toronto byelection Thursday as the NDP?s Cheri DiNovo defeated Liberal candidate Sylvia Watson in the riding of Parkdale-High Park.

DiNovo was leading Watson by about 1,900 votes with 199 of 220 polls counted, allowing the NDP to win the seat vacated by former education minister Gerard Kennedy.

2. So McGuinty
Couldn't dance with Martin, and trying hard to dance with Steve and gets cut off at the knees.

That will show you what happens when you try and play both ends against the middle.

Maybe he needs to show a bit of backbone with Steve on health, child care and on and on and on...

3. If you don't mind a comment from an interested American.....
I've had the pleasure of meeting your new MPP. I've attended a few services at her church...my dear boyfriend sings in the choir, so that's an extra pleasure. :-)

I've enjoyed listening to her sermons. She is a very progressive, caring, passionate progressive. I remember one Sunday...it was the weekend prior to Martin Luther King's birthday...when she eloquently talked about King and his stance against the Vietnam War...and how he would have viewed the War in Iraq. It was timely and it really made me appreciate anew Dr. King.

I'm impressed with her committment to social issues and she'll make a terrific MPP. I congratulate her and the people she'll be representing.

4. Good on her and the voters...
From the link:

"...The Liberals released selected portions of DiNovo’s past sermons to claim she was sympathetic to Karla Homolka and supported the ordination of pedophiles and axe-murderers. Another Liberal release from Watson’s campaign urged DiNovo to “come clean” about remarks she made in the past, including one where she admitted to smuggling LSD from California in hollowed-out Bibles..."

Liberals are such dumb tight-asses -- in certain areas of this country, something like that is a plus...shows character.

You think strategists hired by the party of 'Trudeau' would have figured that part out...their focus group must have come from Owen Sound or something.

:applause:
