VANCOUVER — After winning concessions from the Americans, the B.C. government has thrown its support behind the softwood lumber deal with the U.S.
Premier Gordon Campbell says Canadian negotiators have won concessions on several issues, including the contentious termination clause for the agreement.
He says they've also gotten commitments from both the U.S. government and the American lumber industry to address other Canadian concerns, including how the deal affects remanufactured products.
Flanked by senior industry executives in Vancouver today, Campbell said it's now up to individual companies to say whether they support the deal.
