B.C. backs softwood lumber deal
VANCOUVER — After winning concessions from the Americans, the B.C. government has thrown its support behind the softwood lumber deal with the U.S.

Premier Gordon Campbell says Canadian negotiators have won concessions on several issues, including the contentious termination clause for the agreement.

He says they've also gotten commitments from both the U.S. government and the American lumber industry to address other Canadian concerns, including how the deal affects remanufactured products.

Flanked by senior industry executives in Vancouver today, Campbell said it's now up to individual companies to say whether they support the deal.

1. My inconsequential opinion.
Not getting all of the tarrifs back--with interest--is a deal-breaker.

(But having no influence nor connection with the forestry industry, an opinion is all it is. In the end, I hope more people can "put food on their families".)

2. Seems
Like a cop out.

The resources belong to the people and if one doesn't accept that as a starting point then everything is on the table.

3. 20% of 5 billion given up...
To get the option to review the deal in 3 years? Get serious Gordo and do the fucking math, if we're 55% of production and were giving up 1 billion, that means we're eating 550 million in BC alone you fucking nimrod.

Unacceptable. Worthy of a no-confidence vote.
