Hello Quebecois!
My parents wants to drive to the border to Montreal, but they are flying from Colorado. Can you tell me of a major US airport near Montreal?

Thanks!

1. hmmmm

A major US airport near Montreal ... Boston? ;)

Seriously. Between Boston and Montreal are Vermont and New Hampshire; not many major airports. Boston to Montreal is about 325 miles, basically up I-89. A bit long? It's a pretty drive, of course.

They could fly into Burlington, Vermont, for instance, and then drive, but that sounds complicated.

Why not just fly into Montreal, and then drive around?

2. Cost of flying to Montreal is $500, Jetblue from Denver to Boston is $99
325 is probably 1 tank on a very good mileage rental car.

3. ah yes

Forgot about that plane ticket differential!

Certainly if they have the time and inclination, it is a really nice drive for much of the way -- especially if they happened to be doing it at fall colour time. They should be sure to drive the secondary road all up the island in Lake Champlain -- leave I-89 on the east side, cross over to South Hero on the island, go north all the way up the island, cross over to Rouse's Point on the west side, head north across the border.

If they want my advice, anyhow. ;) Lovely drive.

4. Yeah, that's probably the best way to do it.
Boston to Montreal is a 9 hour drive, just about.
