New law would help skilled immigrants
Internationally trained doctors who are forced to drive taxi cabs instead of working in hospitals could become a thing of the past in Ontario if proposed legislation becomes law, Citizenship and
Immigration Minister Mike Colle said Friday.
If passed, the Fair Access to Regulated Professions Act would be the first law in Canada to effectively change and standardize the rules for hiring foreign-trained skilled workers in 34 regulated professions, Colle said.

It would affect physicians, accountants, lawyers, engineers, teachers and other important professionals, he said.

“We are going to be the first province in Canada to break down the barriers to access our regulated professions,” said Colle, who hopes to introduce the legislation in the “next few days.”

Why waste your time at university to become a doctor. Get your plumbing ticket and earn while you learn. When you go under the knife just find out what cab company your doctor worked for.
