Afghan boy, 9, discharged from Sick Kids
A nine-year-old Afghan boy who came to Canada for life-saving heart surgery broke into a huge smile today as he was discharged from the Hospital for Sick Children.
Djamshid Popal, who was so weak when he arrived in July that he had to be wheeled into the hospital, waited months for his strength to improve for an Oct. 1 operation to replace two of his heart valves and repair a third.

Now well enough that he was able to walk into a news conference on his own, Djamshid will live in Toronto until doctors feel he's strong enough to travel.
