HAHA! My Dad isn't renewing his Conservative party membership!
He's so pissed at Harper for his recent hypocrisy that he said he's out, he says he wants no part of this crap and that he voted conservative because he was tired of the Liberal party B.S. Now he says he's disappointed. It was SOOOOO hard to not say, "I told you so."

I wonder how many other Conservatives will be doing the same thing!

1. I am not a conservative, but am deeply disturbed by these

recent actions. I was in the 'anybody but Liberals' camp, definitely, but they are all appearing to be cut from the same cloth. It was disgusting when Belinda did it, and it's just as disgusting now. Makes a complete mockery of the whole system.
If anyone thought voter turnout was bad for this election - wait until the next one. I will never vote again.

4. try not to be discouraged, it's important to vote and speak up
by sending a letter to your MP or your local paper etc...
silencing yourself is what some parties want you to do.
I know this point is debated (the point on voting)..watched
an interesting discussion on CBC about this, it was very
well done. At any rate, voting IMO, is the way to go.
It's up to you though, we do live in a free country. :)

2. A die-hard conservative at work was very upset..pointed me to a website:
http://www.PetitionOnline.com/RDE/

LOL! This co-worker and I used to have political debate before the election....he knew I was against Harper because he saw some LTTE of mine.

His words today were "I was really excited about a conservative government, but they've taken a page from the Liberal book"

He's mad.

I told him by-elections every time people get unhappy would cause chaos and people can tell Emerson what they think in 18 months or so.

3. Ha! I love it!
You know what...
my mom and dad are snowbirds - called me for some info on the election -
they get virtually no info in the states - so I informed them of the details
on who won, how many seats, etc...big sigh on the other end...told her the
media basically assisted the cons by focusing almost 24-7 on scandals...Mom
piped up and said that "if people think they aren't going to get scandals in
any government, they're dreaming" and she said we'd be heading for deficits
again under cons - Dad piped up and said, they'll be another election soon,
minority government won't hold.
