Canada's sovereignty is at stake. A plea from an American.
This coming election could be the crossroads for Canada and it's independence. I don't have to tell you that Stephan Harper would be another Bush poodle and he would drastically change the face of Canada socially, economically, and politically. Not in a good way mind you. Though I am not a Canadian citizen, I have always liked Canada and am sincerely concerned your country could be forced into some kind of "Anschluss" by the U.S. Neocons. Your country could even become a bigger terrorist target if a Prime Minister Harper bends to the will of Bush.

I can only hope that the Liberals and the NDP will form a coalition. However, I doubt that this will happen. I can also tell you that having Harper as PM could even revive Quebec's separatist ambitions. Would Quebeckers tolerate a union between an U.S. and Canada? Not likely!

Please, Canada. Do what is right for your country. Keep Harper out of 24 Sussex Drive. Keep Bush out of Canadian politics and your own lives.

1. Believe me we don't want Harper here ......
But with the Liberal scandal still in the minds of voters ....its up in the air...I personally want the Greens to make some headway...but I am willing to vote NDP just so that the Cons don't get in....I shudder to think of Canada with Harper as the primeminster......bush land II

2. I can only think it will be worse than Bushland.
If America ever came under martial law, Americans who want to flee would be shut out from your borders. In fact, Harper would probably also declare martial law or whatever at the same time. No escape! No kidding!

3. If Harper hadn't succeeded in hiding his true self there is no way
Canadians would make him Prime Minister. He has had such a slick campaign which has presented him as a big, middle of the road teddy bear. The hope I have is that somehow, between now and election day, Harper will somehow be unmasked. He made a slip today, talking about "activist courts", "liberal judges" etc...Does this sound familiar?....Like George Bush perhaps? I'm still praying that something will occur or be uncovered that reveals him before the public as the right-wing neo con he really is. Thanks for your concern. It is much appreciated!:hi:
